Pokemon Card of the Day #2240: Imakuni? (Generations)

We interrupt the streak of Pokemon that may or may not be decent to bring this important card. For the first time, Imakuni? was printed outside of Japan in the Generations set, and for some reason was also upgraded to a Supporter in this set as well. Yes, Imakuni? was an odd musician in Japan that did promoting for the TCG, and if you’ve played the old Trading Card Game for the Game Boy you’ve likely seen him and collected plenty of cards in the process.

The card itself was, of course, terrible. It took up your Supporter for the turn and your Active Pokemon was Confused as a result. It was just lost as to why Imakuni? was even around. The Japanese print also specified that the card could not be put down on the field as a Pokemon, which was likely a statement directly to Imakuni?. Yes, the whole thing was very weird, but Imakuni? was a piece of TCG history and seeing this card make it out of Japan in some form was very cool.
