Yes but not in the lets go hunt them way. More they might exist on our plane of consciousness but are unable to interact.

I've been a daemian for many years, and I keep wondering if my personality is stable enough to declare myself settled. It certainly feels like it, but every time I find a form that I think fits well I only end up keeping it around a few months. I don't have an account on the forums yet, and I don't think I'll be getting one, so can you give me some advice on how to search for fitting forms? Are there any places I can look besides the forums for info on various animal's traits?

Steve might come in and edit some more stuff in here, but some healthy tips to keep in mind is that 1) If you can’t find a fitting form, it doesn’t mean you aren’t settled and 2) It’s okay if you CAN’T find a form that fits your personality right away. While some folks find a form and it just resonates from the get-go and hardly ever wavers, others are constantly changing and searching and checking and double-checking their forms, never really being able to settle on just one. Some people do this for years even; well into what they consider a settled personality.

It’s also really up to you if you want to continue form-finding, since constantly researching and flitting between forms and be tiring for anyone. Perhaps a good way to look for a fitting form is to start with a form you personally feel comfortable with and keep it around for a while. Then, find out why that form doesn’t fit you; if you can start identifying why that form doesn’t fit, you can take your first steps into a form that does. so perhaps you could start with a tiger (a lot of folks like big, strong, pretty tigers), and after a while you think “Well, I am more sociable than a tiger, but some other traits fit. I think I’ll be a lion for a while.” and then perhaps “Hm, well I’m more sensitive than a lion and not THAT social, maybe cheetahs would work” and so on and so forth. By whittling down the competition, you can eventually start coming to a form that DOES start fitting you, and you can start identifying why. Not only that, but it gives you a reason to perhaps look into animals you had never thought of before, and perhaps learn something about yourself along the way.

Other tips are to talk to other people about you. Not to be narcissistic of course, but maybe perhaps ask a close friend or family member how they see you, or what your top traits are and then see if you can relate it back to your personality or behavior. For example, if you think you are really relaxed, but someone else thinks you are high-strung, why do they think of you that way? Are they more relaxed than you overall, or perhaps you are more anxious than previously imagined? Or maybe it’s a completely different underlying factor; who knows! But if you feel comfortable doing so (like, under the guise of a school project, for example), asking friends and those around you what they think of you can be an invaluable tool when it comes to form finding and working on your personality.

There are some other tips out there as well, but those are the best I can offer for someone who is working on form-finding on their own! If you have any questions however, feel free to drop us a line here, and we’ll do our best to publish an answer on the blog.
