Here comes the first poster of @mahirahkhan's new film @7dinmohabbatin #SapnoKiRani #Neeli #7DMI #7DinMohabbatIn #MahiraKhan #DawnFilms #IMGC #b4umotionpictures
Is anyone else getting tired of how emotionally manipulative Saga is? Back when it started, it looked like the comic was aiming to explore war and tolerance in interesting ways but now it's clear that they're less interested in exploring these issues than using them as vehicles to bring absolute misery into the lives of these characters the comic labors so much to make us care about. I got the exact same impression from reading A Song of Ice and Fire, where it seemed the books cared less about telling a story and more about exploiting a hot-cold dynamic with the reader. I think there's a Warren Ellis quote where he criticizes We3 for getting most of its kick from emotional manipulation ("Here are some adorable cute animals! Now watch them die!"), and I think Saga has fallen into the same trap – "Here's a glimmer of hope for this family that deserves happiness! Now watch it crumble away in the most horrifying possible way!" over and over again. The ending of this week's issue was ridiculous.
