Amaterasu hadn’t really been one for adventures for quite a long time... Longer than her mind could comprehend, honestly. Or was that just the lingering effects of traveling so much time itself warped? Who knows and at the moment, the goddess didn’t really care.
It was the time period most mortals would consider the “modern day”. She liked to think of it as “the noisier time period”, personally. Somehow, this time managed to be louder and fussier than her own on the busiest market day; it was daunting!
Huffing slightly, Amaterasu sunk down in the shade of a shop, not minding the people passing and staring at the white wolf before them. Most people didn’t believe in the gods anymore, much less Shinto-specifics, so it just worked better for her, in the long run.
...She still kinda missed people greeting her brightly and offering her treats though. While the summer heat didn’t get to her as much as it could have, it was still enough to get her stomach to burn through what it took in; she was hungry and thirsty and willing to do next to anything to achieve that.
The goddess’ eyes wandered, trying to see if maybe there was someone she could beg off of... Surely some sap would be willing to believe she’s but a simple, white dog and give her some of their food, right?
There was a young man across the road that seemed like the type to be suckered into that kind of thing if she tried hard enough, but... What gave her pause and a straightened position was his own “canine” companion. That wasn’t a true dog, that smell... It was a young fox. One day to become a ninetails... What ever could a native tailed fox be doing here?? Even this whole situation was an oddity alone for the goddess of the sun...
Without hesitation and proper thought, Amaterasu rose up and began to tail them from the other side of the street, weaving through people like second nature and eyes locked onto the tailed fox just across the way.
