If you instant-message a lot you have probably gotten into a habit of typing a message and then immediately hitting ‘send’ without thinking, and for instant messaging that’s great, but it can get you into real trouble other places. For example, the ‘response’ option on posts here on Tumblr, where once you hit send, there is no way to retract, hide, or delete that message.

Please remember to re-read your messages before you post them so you don’t say something you might regret.

What you post online will be visible to many more than just the person you meant it for, and could effect people in a way you don't intend.
