So...I had a thought. (Post CC) Sephiroth always goes to Cloud when he returns. What if this is because Cloud is the only one left of the 5 (ASGZC) that Sephiroth was close to, and therefore is the only one he can trust to be able to take him down? So, subconsciously, he searches for Cloud every time he is reborn so he doesn't cause harm to the planet or, goddess forbid, Cloud. (sorry if this has already been discussed, and thank you for getting me in to ASGZC)
