Interscholastic Magical Literacy and Alchemy Decathlon :DDDD!!

The IMLAD is a competition where the brightest students from across the lands can enter and participate in all sorts of events from magical history trivia to active brewing races.

It’s made more for the studious students of schools rather than the physically build students.

As said in the name, it’s got the same structure of a decathlon with 10 events spread over 2 days, the entire competition including introductions and awards lasting 4 days. The topics of each event are as follows:

Toxicology

Potionology

History of Magic

Enigmics

Ancient Runes

Astrology

Summoning Magic

Alchemy

Magical Engineering

Animal Languages

Schools are allowed to send 5 students to participate in the decathlon. If students are underprepared either cause of curriculum issues or lack of experience, they are given the first day to review and gain basic understanding to keep the competition fair. If they are prepared, the first day is considered a free day where they may interact with other schools and discuss plans for their own team. No changes to the actual events should occur.

Students are supplied with all the necessities such as temporary housing, food, transportation, clothing, and apparel. After the two days of events are over, the final day is used to recognize extraordinary students and announce the winning school.

Oki doki now for some IMLAD lore >:D

so, when looking on the Sage’s Island map, you might wonder where this island could host such an event for so many schools, while also not displacing citizens?

well, the venue comes to them!

The Island called “Scholar’s Key” used to be apart of the Sunset Savanna continent, however due to a mysterious magical event, the island broke off from the landmass, constantly moving throughout the world.

It’s course changes from year to year, however, people have named each route the same thing. “The Flow Of Knowledge.” This is due to the belief that wherever the island stays for at least 4 days without disruption to its flow, that area/continent is sure to have some sort of magical or historical breakthrough.

The island has inhabitants, and those are the people who plan, invite, and correlate the entire IMLAD event, since they pride themselves on the pursuit of knowledge. (It’s what their island stands for)

They offer internships for magical history, as well as theoretical studies to investigate what exactly caused the island to break off and why breakthroughs across the land correspond to its 4 day “rest period”.

The IMLAD specifically is hosted every 2 years :3

oki doki I’ve got some drafts for the IMLAD outfits :3!

The students are allowed to add what they want to the uniforms, these are just the basics of the outfit!

the outfits are very similar, only difference being the skirt. The sleeves can be taken off and swapped out for a shorter alternative. The sleeve and pants/skirt color are meant to be the main color of the students’ respective schools, a different example below is with RSA (plus a visual of the short sleeve option)

Shoes can also be changed to sneakers, but you are required to keep the original shoes on during the introduction ceremony and the closing ceremony of the event.

magestones can be placed wherever you wish, however the event organizers recommend you strap your magestone to one of the brown straps of your uniform. Either there, or one of your belt pouches.

Around which book does IMLAD take place? The students are probably wondering how their headmage just keeps letting overblots happen during these events😭

I personally planned to have it be post book 6, possibly post book 7 mostly because I don’t think it would fit anywhere else.
