{♠} —; “Ah, so you’re supposed to be the new King that I am serving, hm?” Roze takes out a flask, drinking from it briefly before returning their attention to the King. Younger than Roze thought he’d be. Oh well. “I should make introductions. My name is Roze Weilai, your new Ten in the deck. It’s a pleasure to meet you, your majesty.”
{♠} —; Roze bows politely, kneeling on one knee before the other as tentacles slid out from their robe. One, two, three, four of them idly sliding around Roze. “Thank you for having me in your kingdom.”

Oh, oh what was this? Was that the King of Pique he saw? When he traveled to Pique, he thought his visit would be quite boring. But no, he found the King of the country!
Clapping his hands, he practically bounced over, a small Lamia trailing after him.
“Bonjour, King of Pique!”
@immeritus
He wasn’t sure how, but he somehow managed to wind up in Pique. Or at least, he assumed this was Pique. The Ace vaguely remembered his brother showing photos from this area, although he wasn’t entirely sure if it was the same place. He walked up to the nearest person, who also looked very familiar.
“I’m so, so, so sorry if I’m bothering you right now, but...could you tell me where I am..?”
Years later, years and years later, after all the horrible terrorizing done by the pair to all of Wonderland, Mikage knew now who had tricked him into becoming a death god. The Mad Hatter had shown up back then, shown up and destroyed his life---Mikage was almost certain he was the cause of his father’s madness as well.
So when he got a letter practically begging him to come find them both, Mikage had almost recklessly rushed into action. He stopped himself, though, and thought about it---they had supernatural powers, and all he could do was very minuscule things, in the grand scheme of things.
He requested an audience with the king, and when he was granted it almost immediately, he pulled the crisp paper from his sleeve, holding it out. “I got a letter from Alice and Erik. Do you know about it?”
@immeritus
He has never believed in fortune-telling. There are too many uncertain tragedies to be despised, too many false wishes to be trusted. For someone who has all the time in the world (to his chagrin,) Samil would hate to spend it fixated on fickle concepts whose bearings shift with each passing moment. And yet, green eyes betrayed and found themselves poring over the innocent piece of paper on his palm, why am I feeling so restless?
Distantly, he could hear the sounds of frayed long ropes scratching on dirt; they shook him out of early blooming apprehension that should never sprout. How foolish. His original plan to visit Izumo Taisho does not include getting nervous by groundless superstitions, and look what he had done. A drop of sweat on Samil’s forehead dripped down and dampened the paper in response to his musing. Maybe the heat of Pique had numbed his brain.

Kenkouji was practically impossible for Sol to navigate, but still the Queen insisted he bring the King with him here, of all places. Maybe for the exact purpose of getting lost. Finding the district was always easy, but finding their way back from it? A different matter altogether. Bustling through a crowd, Sol led Ephraim to a stall perched on an abandoned corner that seemed to carry foods most similar to sweet pastries and fresh baked breads. All appetizing in their appearance. But no seller to sell to them. Strange. Not that either of them were particularly hungry after having gone to several food spots before this, eating now was more like, killing time, for Nox to calm down and allow them both back in the castle they’d been so rudely exiled from. Momentarily of course. Chased out the doors with a few spouts of flames sent their way. They hadn’t even done anything deserving of the outrage, but who knows what happens inside the royal castle walls. Who ever knows what the Jack is enraged by.
“Hey while we’re out here, there’s somethin’ I’ve been meanin’ to ask. Queen to King an’ all.” Thinking of Nox had driven the queen to other thoughts he’d been itching to get off his chest. Not that he even wanted to ask about the Jack, or even the Ace, he didn’t need to know why they were in their positions. He didn’t particularly care. Thinking of the Jack had sparked thoughts about the royal family of Pique before them. Sol hadn’t even ever thought to ask about them at all, finding it all to be hush hush among the citizens even. “I know you’re not completely childish. And I know ruling over a kingdom must get to you every so often so, I gotta ask I mean, what keeps you here? What drives you, beyond proving yourself to these people?” The questioned seemed heavy, and came right out of nowhere, considering their previous talk of favored foods beforehand.
