"SOME NIGHTS YOU BREATH FIRE!" The voice was obnoxiously loud in the quiet Motorcity night. There was of course no difference between day and night in the underground city, but it's people somewhat followed the hours of the clock anyway. There was a break in the singing as Duke put the bottle to his mouth and gulped down several mouthfuls at once. He tore the bottle from his lips and spilled on his shirt before he managed to tip it the right side up.
Duke coughed before he continued. "SOME NIGHTS YOUR CARVED... IN IIIIIICCCCEEE!!" A slurred repeating of the words could be heard under his breath as Duke staggered further on his trek through the city. He took another swipe of the bottle in his hands. Two gulps and then it stopped. Duke blinked in confusion and stopped to blink and glare at the bottle. There was two bottles in his hand for a second and he fumbled a bit to grab at them with both of his left hands. First missing the mirage and then suddenly grabbing the glass made him blink and pull it close. It was empty. Duke shrugged and tossed it onto the street.
Shards of glass was sent flying everywhere and Duke started to talk again. He fumbled in his pocket and dragged up a flat flask of gin. "SOME NIGHTS YOUR LIKE NOTHING I'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE, OR WILL AGAIN!" There was a strained groan as his fingers slipped on the bottle cap. A small humming of the old song and another strained huff and Duke finally got a good enough grip to twist the cap open.
The royal had not noticed that he had stumbled out into the middle of the road while he had been concentrating on the bottle. "Maybe I'm crazy, but it's crazy and..." Duke stopped and put the new bottle to his lips. He practically drank out fourth of it in one go. When the drink hit his already pact stomach, Duke looked a bit groggy for a moment. His eyes could not focus anymore and there seemed to be some incredibly funny lights whisking around in the air. "it's crazy and... and..." He wiped his nose with the back of his hand and sniffed loudly. There was something he was forgetting now. Duke blinked and moved his arms. The drink spilled a bit on his hand. Becoming wet took all of his attention suddenly and Duke began to drink again.
It was becoming hard to stand up so the tall man promptly sat down in the middle of the road with his bottle. The clear liquid still going down his gullet and the song still stuck on his mind.
