Blood, Salt, Water. DJT’s Sacrifice to the God of Death, This one’s a weird one. I’ll set the scene: It’s past midnight. The evening red light is on to aid in sleeping, but sleepiness won’t come. An urge to draw creeps in; It’s been easing its way in drip by drip the whole day. “Why not?” You say, and grab your art journal, a random pen, and your yoga mat to lay on. Doodling on the floor in the middle of the night with, let’s face it, an adult night light on, and one tune playing in your earbuds: Feel Something by Liz Brasher. 🎧 The very first time I heard this song I thought about Trump. It was a peculiar thought, but it seemed to me that it spoke of him and the tremendous amount of inner pain and turmoil he must feel to project such hate into the world. Maybe he’s a legit sociopath and was born this way, but maybe he had shit cruel parents and is forever trying to be good enough for Daddy. My best guess from such a far off pov is he desperately fears his own meaninglessness and mortality. He wants to be “somebody”, to be bigger than his physical human mortal limitations, to be remembered. What a way to get it - the sacrifice of countless lives, livelihoods, and one’s own country. Maybe it’ll be enough to get him what his immortality project most desires - immortality through historical impact, the live and wellbeing of all others be damned. 💀 But what do I know, really? Just the impression I get. Enough for it to be the center point of my art therapy session tonight. This whole terrible time of trump has been heartbreaking and disorienting (for multiple reasons). Now, I know this doesn’t look much like the guy, but I try not to see his face or hear his voice if I can help it, so I did my best from momentary blips of memory. Looking at it finished I see how similar his pose is to the Statue of Liberty. I might make a finer piece of work with that idea. Maybe. The red light makes it more of the horror image I want to project here too.
