As promised, he’d brought the juniors and Lan Zhan to Mc Donalds during the weekend to try out the new ‘Three Bite Challenge’ Sizhui had shown him on Facebook. ❝I’m not trolling you, honestly.❞  he leans back up, crossing his head with his finger. ❝Every sauce in this restaurant is red, where’s the difference? You’ll know once you’ve tried all of them - I liked the Thai chili the best, but this isn’t it. If it’s spicy, I’ll treat you to a barbeque double beef burger, how about it?❞ Perhaps that was enough to know that he really wasn’t lying! Why is it, Wei Wuxian thought in amusement, that when he speaks the truth quite often, no one believed him???

Allen had heard the rattling sounds first, brows furrowing as he debated whether to go toward or away from the noise. He had no idea where the Ark had landed him, and his body felt exhausted, more than it should be.

Chains weren’t quite a comforting sound, but what if someone was chained? It was night; and this forest felt... off to Allen’s senses. Crown Clown had been on edge, wary; and hesitated for a brief moment before sending warmth as well as caution.

That Crown had not felt a need to run was a good sign; but something still bothered his Innocence.

So the young man followed the sounds, steps light, pulling the hood of his travel cloak up, Timcanpy hidden inside the folds of his clothes. He couldn’t be careless.

He froze, eyes widening slightly, as his gaze landed on source of the sound, a few feet from him.

Chains to their ankles and wrists, but not attached to anything; and... And...

Colors drained from Allen’s face. But his curse had not reacted, only now did it itch slightly, a sign it sensed death; yet there was no Akuma.

Just what appeared to be a corpse.

And in his frozen shock, Allen had stayed unmoving, ending in line of sight.

[Jingyi] “ can you keep secrets? can you know a thing and never say it again? ”

He listens to the young Lan’s question, but for a moment he appears as though he never heard it - his eyes are lowered but in thought as he interprets the question. Was it a theoretical one, an approach to situations that Jingyi didn’t seem to be inclined towards? More likely, and judging by the tone of his voice, it is a literal question. Lan Wangji walks forward quietly from the instructor’s table at the front of the room towards Jingyi, who is standing alone at the walkway between the student desks. Everyone else has since departed, except for Sizhui who is waiting outside on the dais. 

A glance from him tells his ward to allow them a moment, and Sizhui turns around and descends down the stairs to wait at the bottom. 

Looking back at Lan Jingyi, he studies him for a fraction of a moment in thoughtful silence before answering. The knowledge that he felt he could approach him and entrust him with whatever may be on his mind blossomed into a soft warmth in his chest. 

“Be assured, you may speak your mind to me,” he replies, his voice encouraging with its lack of earlier authority. “Anything said between us will remain so.”

He gives the Ghost General a pat on his shoulders. He feels flattered by the first sentence---it is rare Wen Ning is ever so direct, but the second, ah...
