[3:33:00 AM] Leonard McCoy: what is even going on on your blog?
(Ladies and gentlemen, I've done it.)
[baby meme] Leonard headed to the room to check up on how things were. This was the last thing he had to do before his shift was over. Walking into the room he froze as he saw Jocelyn in the bed holding a baby. He stared at the two and stopped breathing for a moment. Years, he hadn't seen her in years and this was their first meeting after the divorce. Tears brimmed in his eyes and he looked to the floor. "Congratulations, Jocelyn," he murmured before rushing out the door.
27 hours. 27 hours of labor she went through alone. Yes the doctors were helpful, and everything was safe and fine. But she was alone. Told Clay she was pregnant, in the same day he told her he was leaving. Get rid of the child, or rid of him. She wouldn't do that to her child. So she was alone. But she was fine with that. She could focus on being the mother she should have been with her children.
What she didn't count on was seeing Leonard. Not a few hours after giving birth, she sat breastfeeding in the hospital bed, and her head looked up to see his eyes. The same as always. She opened her mouth to speak, but he was already gone.
"Len ..."
Jocelyn watched, a knot in her stomach. But she was happy for him. he was able to move on, find happiness again. That's all she wanted for him.
"... have you chosen a name yet?"
A smile came to his face at the mention of horseback riding, "I would love to take her horseback riding. The ranch? I didn't think they would be interested in the ranch at all but I suppose I could do that. Thanks Joss."
"Honey of course they would. It's been ages since any of us had even seen it. That was their first home. It was the first home I ever had as an adult ... it was beautiful."
I'm not sure I do want to talk about medicine to her. I want to be able to connect with her with something /other/ than work. I'm even surprised that they both want to be doctors. It's a mystery to me, I would've thought they would've wanted Clay's profession, whatever the hell that was.
... he was an ambassador. So he was away a lot.
Jo ... Jo wants to be like you ... she ... she loves horseback riding. You two could talk about that. You love horses. And you could tell how about the Ranch. How you built it, I bet she'd love old stories.
Well Jonathan and I are going to start fixing up that Old Earth Chevy that I have in the garage at the ranch as soon as it gets to San Francisco. I didn't know he was into mechanics like I was. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure what the hell I can find in common with Joanna but thanks for offering to talk to her.
Medicine. Joanna is so excited about medicine. She wants to be a doctor. She's went to Starfleet, has to do her practicals on a ship.
You two can bond over that. You can help her with her studies.
I can't wait to see you both bonding. it'll be great.
Hey Jocelyn, I talked to Johnny and he's agreed to have dinner with us. I can't get in touch with Jo, I think she's ignoring me, or everyone. He said he'll talk to her though.
Joanna ... can be stubborn. Just give her a bit of time. I'll speak with her tomorrow. A little one on one time with each child could be good.
I think dinner does sound nice Leonard.
