I read books one and two so far, I just started tbm, and I'm going to be controversial probably?, but I think they are as good as hoo.

That means: Riordan still hasn't done his research wrt writing characters of color, and lgbt characters are 😬 at best, with the exception of Apollo himself, whose bisexuality is, imo, nicely incorporated. Riordan's writing hasn't grown in this respect.

As for the plot, it's the usual: threat to the world. Deadline. Quests. Witty one-liners. Not bad, just exactly what you'd expect.

All in all, if you like Apollo as a character it can be fun, and Meg, the new character, is awesome. However, don't expect unproblematique high literature.
