You asked what to do with your current spiritual momentum. For this question, I pulled two cards from the Buddha Tarot, which uses stories from the Buddhaâs life and Buddhist Sutras to share wisdom and lessons from the buddha dharma.
The Flaming Disk is similar to the Tower - it represents tranformation, change, and letting go of your ego and pride to move into a whole new level of spiritual awakening. The card depicts the moment from the Buddhaâs life just before he reaches enlightenment as he meditates beneath a tree. Siddhartha has one last obstacle in his way: the demon Mara hurls a large flaming disk at him. Instead of running or defending himself, Siddhartha recognizes that the flames are not actually a danger and in a moment of complete unattachment he lets go and flower petals rain down on him instead of fire.
With this card reversed, you are seeing something in your life as flames instead of flowers. This is your sign or nudge that whatever is scaring you or worrying you the most in moving forward in your spiritual journey canât actually hold you back from making progress. Knowing this, take the plunge in whatever youâve been seeking to do and let go of the concerns that have been keeping you from it. It may be difficult or very challenging, but if you do so youâll be able to grow to the next level in your practice.
The second card I pulled is the Six of Double Vajras. The suite of Double Vajras is about taking action, and for this card itâs about motherly action. Someone in your life (could be any gender or relation to you) is trying to bring some nuturing, loving energy into your life. You have someone looking out for you who wants to help support you. I have a sense that it may be a spirit of someone you know who has passed away or an ancestor who wants to come forward for you and let you know that youâre not alone in the challenges in your plate at the moment. If you are comfortable doing so, I recommend following up on that with a prayer of acknowledgement and gratitude or a small offering to say thank you.

IMPACT READING FOR THE OKRA PROJECT
Thank you so much for donating to the Okra Project! The Okra Project pays Black Trans chefs to go into the homes of Black Trans people to cook them a healthy and home-cooked meal at absolutely no cost to Black TGNC folx. This costs the Okra Project $90, so every donation adds up to help compensate the chiefs and cover the cost of groceries for these delicious and nutritious meals!

Card #1: What do you need to know about where you will be in a year from now?Â
The Observer / Hanged Man - In the African American tarot, this card is represented by Ifa, the collective oral history and divination system of the Yoruba people. For you, this speaks to great wisdom and vision that youâll have access to but also sacrifices youâll have to make in exchange for these gifts.Â
In a year from now, if all succeeds, you will be in a very difficult place, but itâs where you're meant to be. You will be on the edge of a whole new stage of your life - both in terms of spiritual growth and your personal development across other aspects of your life. It is the culmination of all your hard work between now and then, a big milestone and transition from one phase of life to another that reflects your progress and achievements.
The difficult part of all this is that it wonât always feel that way... you will gain so much at this point in your life but it will also feel as if you have lost much of what is important to you. You wonât have the same freedoms or choices then as you do now because of the responsibilities that you will take on. These limitations will be very difficult for you to accept, but it is important to understand that it was necessary.
Card #2: What lesson will you need to learn in order to get there?
King of Swords - As I drew the first card for your reading, I had a strong sense that another needed to be pulled as well to answer this question. The King of Swords is the great protector and divine father, Asa, from Kenya.Â
For you, Asa represents the strength and wisdom of a true king, who sees his people not as subjects but as the children he watches over within his big family. Asaâs power comes from his intellect, and how he remains calm and rational even when others are fighting or wrong him. He has the right discernment to know how to walk the right path.Â
In order for you to be ready to make emotionally challenging decisions and reach that milestone, you will need to set aside fears, doubts, and resentment. You will need to learn that same kind of discernment to understand what you will need to be willing to give up in exchange for wisdom and insight. Moving forward in this way isn't about getting even, it's about remaining true to yourself and investing in what you truly need to grow.
Hi Yejide Itâs awesome that youâre supporting these organizations with your readings. Iâd like a general reading about getting in touch with my ancestors and family traditions. My initials are VS, mothers initials are VM. Method whatever you feel is best.
Hey there! Glad you think so and thanks for helping with that goal by donating to the Trans Women of Color Collective :) I love to use my African American Tarot deck for everything related to ancestors. I asked three questions about how you can better connect to your ancestors and family traditions.
You received Two of Wands reversed on the topic of connecting with your ancestors. The card art depicts the West African demon that posses newborn babies, called the Obambou. There is a belief that when the dead are not buried properly and well taken care of, their spirits can turn into Obambou who enter infantsâ bodies and cause them to go mad and wild. Itâs going to be essential for you to be proactive about learning your cultureâs specific ancestral customs and ways of working with ancestors. Research and study as much as you can so that you can create a traditional altar that they are happy with. Make sure to give offerings and tend to their altar consistently. This card speaks of an impending risk in the way that you work with them if you arenât careful and sensitive to their needs.
For honoring your family traditions, the Emperor appeared. In this deck, he is Olorun, the owner of the sky and heaven (Orun) in Yoruba religion. It is a title of the Supreme God and creator of the universe. Iâm getting a strong sense here about monotheism and perhaps even Abrahamic religions. If your family practices one of these religions, even if it isnât consistent with your beliefs, you may want to consider honoring some of the important traditions related to that. Iâm also sensing a strong patriarch and/or patrilineal traditions in your family from this card.
Lastly, I asked about what offering you could provide for your ancestors and received the Tower, who is Gaunab - the South African deity of evil who causes misfortune, disaster, and death. The good news is that the previous two cards provide some guidance on what to do, the bad news is that this card is to me a very strong indicator that your ancestors may not be too pleased with you at the moment. Maybe you are feeling lost, in conflict, or uncomfortable with family or your family line right now - or maybe itâs that your ancestors have been wanting attention and time from you that you havenât yet given them. The âofferingâ being asked for here is to wash away whatever has been holding you back like a destructive flood that clears obstacles but also cleanses. I recommend some deep meditation or reflection on what these tensions may be and to make some plans to begin working with your ancestors more closely.

Hello Yejide! For the impact reading, I'd like some clarification about a past life of mine. I've looked into it before and continue to do so, and want to know if I'm heading in the right direction with that work. What should I keep in mind as I continue to explore and connect with it spiritually? Thank you so much!! âĄ
Hi there! Thanks so much for supporting the Trans Women of Color Collective :) My Buddha Tarot deck has been great in the past on readings related to past lives, so I used it to ask about the past life youâve been connecting with and what you need to know going forward.
The main theme of your reading is ACTION. You received the Ace of Double Vajras, which is the emblem of karma. Karma in Sanskrit means action, it is what we choose to do that is driven by our intentions and followed by reactions or consequences that often match our intentions in some way. I drew other cards after these three for clarity on this and they were from the Double Vajra suit as well. All calling for you to take action related to this past life. I sense that there is a motherly or mother-figure related to this action, but only you know the specifics of this. My deck decided it was enough to encourage you to take action, especially if thereâs already something youâve been considering doing and doubting yourself on related to this past life.
As for guidance on this past life going forward, my deck provided some warnings to you about getting overly caught up in it the wrong way.
The Death card speaks to the fact that we all die at some point. Our bodies in this lifetime are temporary, and it is necessary to accept this even though it can be difficult to comprehend and unpleasant to think about. Studying past lives can help us understand why we are here in this life and how we can grow spiritually, but it can also hinder us sometimes from appreciating the present moment and current lifetime. Our lives here are fleeting, and itâs important to both appreciate them and remember that they will not last forever.
The last card, Judgment, refers to the Buddha Gautamaâs first sermon about the Four Noble Truths. The important lesson for you there is to understand that there is no perfect life. Your past lives had their ups and downs, so does this one, and so will future lives. You will not have a perfect next life without pain and hardship just as you have had in this life too - no matter what past connections you are able to rekindle. Enjoy connecting with your past life, but donât let âthe grass is greener on the other sideâ misconception make you get too caught up in any life other than your current one.

abt reading for codeword: al-shaafiyah. im sorry i totally forgot some important info! birthdate is July 19 1994, my dads initials are ATS and my initials are currently ETS.
Hey there :) Thank you so much for donating to the Trans Women of Color Collective! I also appreciate your patience as it took me a while to finally get to this reading.
In the previous message, you asked, âwhat might help me in my current path of trying to strengthen my psychic abilities? i feel like my psychic senses have some internal blockages that are hindering them and im confused as to what they are or what to do abt them.â
I used my Buddha Tarot deck for you to get some advice on these topics and drew the following two cards:
The Elephant represents what you need to grow and develop your psychic abilities. In Buddhism, the elephant is a symbol of mental strength. At the beginning of one's practice the uncontrolled mind is symbolised by an untamed and unruly elephant who can run wild any moment and destroy everything on his way. You may have also heard this called a âmonkey mind.â After practising meditation and taming one's mind, the mind which is now brought under control is symbolised by an elephant strong and powerful, who can be directed wherever one wishes and destroy all the obstacles on his way.
You have psychic gifts, but developing them to the point of great strength and control is going to require a lot of discipline and practice over time. Itâs going to take patience and effort to get there! So try not to get too frustrated with yourself as you practice if youâre not getting the resultls that you are hoping for. Thereâs no need to doubt your abilities, just take it one step at a time :) Donât push yourself too hard either, or your abilities like an unruly elephant could have unintended impacts on others or yourself.
As for whatâs blocking your psychic skills right now, the Seven of Vajras reversed says that you are too busy and focused on things that are distracting you from being able to focus and tap into your intuition. The Seven of Vajras shows the mentality of a workaholic and reveals anxieties about financial security. While career, money, and work may be important priorities in your life right now, youâll need to learn how to shift gears and find a peaceful relaxed state of mind in order to channel your abilities better.
Stress, anxiety, and worry can be very big barriers to the concentration and state of mind needed for successful psychic readings. Try to find a relaxing environment to practice your readings, maybe add something that you find soothing to your divination routines like drinking tea beforehand or practicing meditation.

Hi Yejide! For the impact reading, I'd like to know about the Forest Service job I've applied for. I've been having doubts lately, and my conflicted thoughts are making my own divination about it murky at best. Is this job really a good fit for me, and if so, what can I do to get it?
Heya (: Thanks so much for supporting the Trans Women of Color Collective <3 I read for you with the Buddha Tarot to get some clarity into whether this job is really a good fit.
You received two cards from the Vajras suit, the suit of the mind and ways of thinking. Whether or not this particular job is right for you is not so much the issue here as the way you are approaching the job search overall. The Vajras suit is calling you to reflect on why you are so keen to get this type of job in the first place and to adjust your perspective.
Just like the man on the Seven of Vajras carrying a heavy sack of valuables on his back, you want to be in the thick of work right now - bringing value, earning an income, busy with progress in the direction that you want to go towards certain outcomes. But amongst all this business, remember to take a pause and go back to what your core values are - not just the valuables that are on your mind right now. The job that you applied for is what it is, but your mentality about it and attitude towards your job search are whatâs causing the lack of clarity around what to do and what path to take.
Dakinis are divine messengers who dance between the lines of our world and enlightenment. They appear at critical moments on our journeys to give warnings, provide inspiration, or cause a great shift of transformation within ourselves to be pushed to the next level of development. Vajradakini here reinforces the message of the Seven of Vajras. A poem about her says,
âI draw out the seekerâs awareness from the grasping hands of matter.â
If there is someone in your life who is warning you about your current way of thinking or encouraging you to look at things a different way, Vajradakini is a sign to take them seriously and take their advice to heart.
