Questions + Answers
1. You have the ability to change one aspect of your personality to be whatever you want. What/how would you change, and why?
Fuck, that’s a good one. I really don’t know. Maybe being less abrasive, I guess. Over the years, I’ve learned to have a healthy distrust of everyone and everything (okay, so maybe it’s not exactly healthy). I’m a real pleasant person until things get serious, whether a real solid friendship begins forming or a relationship does, then I get on edge. Consequently, I’ve been told, that once I’m on edge, I get kinda mean.
2. In 100 words or less, recommend the last work you’ve viewed (book, film, art, etc.)
Okay, so the last thing I watched was a film by the name of Mindhunters. I originally watched it with my mom way back when she was alive. It stars some chick who has done nothing else, film wise, Johnny Lee Miller, LL Cool J, Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, the guy that plays Pinocchio on OUAT, and a whole bunch of other no named people. Either way, it’s a lovely film about a bunch of FBI profilers who are stuck on an island with a serial killer and they have to figure out who it is. One of my favorites.
3. If you had an all-expenses-paid vacation for a month, where would you travel to and what would you do?
That’s a hard one too. There’s so many places I want to go. Australia, Ireland, England, California, Canada, Alaska, Brazil, Russia, etc. But, I guess I would have to say, I’d go back to Dublin. When I went there last summer, I had the greatest time, despite being jet lagged like all Hell. Going back, I’d probably just be a Dubliner for a month. Ya know, go to the local pubs, see the usual tourist sites, randomly just amble about town. I’d probably get a lot of writing down, considering I was in the birthplace of Oscar Wilde, the only classical author who I at least somewhat enjoy.
Then again, I might not do a whole lot, I do have a large weakness for redheads!
4. What three places would you never, ever move to - even for your dream job/career?
1. Detroit, Michigan- I just can’t live in a place where a pizza gets to your house faster than the authorities do. 2. Chicago, Illinois- Solely because I hate the Chicago Cubs. Cards rule, Cubs suck, simple as that. 3. Paris, France- I’m still mad about how dirty of a city it was and how rude the people are, Paris sucks.
5. Who is your role model? What influence have they had on your life?
That’s a tough one, I have two and they’re both very different.
The first one is more of a role model for my ethics, I guess. Vladimir Lenin. I had to study the Soviet overthrow of Czarist Russia for a class once and that’s where I learned about Lenin. I don’t subscribe to any of his socioeconomic ideals, communism just don’t work, but he did kind of inspire my desire to change things that are broken and help those that need it.
The second one is less of a role model and more of a person I strive to do right by. My mom. She had plenty of problems, she was an alcoholic and abused prescription drugs, but she always believed that I was capable of whatever I set my mind to. I consider her one of my role models because, if I can become half the man she wanted me to be, I’ll be a wonderful person.
6. Describe two things on your bucket list.
How about the first two things? There’s one thing that’s always at the top of my bucket list and it’s something that I think that everyone should have on theirs. Do something stupid. A lot of people, myself included, don’t do a whole lot of adventurous stuff because they define it as “stupid”. So, if I do something stupid, I’ll be doing something uncharacteristic of myself, something completely and utterly new. Live in a country that doesn’t speak English. And no, that doesn’t mean living in a Spanish speaking country either. I want to live in a country where I don’t understand one word of the entire language, I don’t know why but it just seems like it’d be a cool thing to do.
7. What skill/attribute would put you above 90% of the population? (i.e. What makes you better than most people?)
I have a really highly tuned bullshit detector, I can sense bullshit from a mile away. It’s also part of the reason I have a not so healthy distrust of everyone. And I don’t know a second one, I’m pretty average. I’ve been told I have pretty good Gaydar, does that count?
8. What animal would you like to be? Are they your favourite animal? Why/Why not?
I’d like to be a crow. Crows are so fascinating to me and they’re kinda morbid too. They aren’t my favorite animal though, that’s the penguin. I wouldn’t be a penguin cuz I’d be an awful penguin, I’d always be bitching about the cold.
9. What do you think is your greatest strength? And your greatest weakness?
Greatest Strength: I have a habit of getting back up when I’ve been knocked down. I am a tornado when I’ve been pissed off or screwed over, won’t rest until I get my pound of flesh.
Greatest Weakness: I am a serious procrastinator, it’s not uncommon to here me say “I’ll do it in a bit” and then three or four hours, say the same the thing. It’s really bad and I’ve been having a hard time overcoming it.
10. Describe your aesthetic. Take as much room as you need.
I had to google aesthetic, never came across that word before, which is frightening because I have a wonderful vocabulary. I guess my aesthetic would be comfortably simple. I am a big believer in dressing for comfort and not to please others, my room is minuscule so I’ve done my best to keep it simple so that it doesn’t seem smaller, I don’t care for things that are so overly complicated when it could be simpler. Idk if that counts but… Yeah.
11. This is your chance to promo someone. Who do you pick?
@cardinalnation52 because dammit, more people need to follow a blog about the best damn baseball team that’s ever existed!
