What is with all the hate?
I saw many posts complaining about the latest episode, complains mostly about poor writing. So lets try to break down a few of these complains.
Many of you seem to be unhappy with Asseylum’s actions, disliking the lack of character development. May i remind you that she spent the last 2 years in a “tube” recovering from her wounds. So tell me how will she develop when she’s been unconscious for that time? And how do you expect her to catch up for 2 lost years in a matter of days? Actually she is more developed than you give her credit for. At the beginning she was literally hiding behind Inaho in the meantime preaching for end of hostilities, since that didn’t work very well she participated in the military operation for shutting down Castle Saazbaum. And we all know, how that ended. Now that she is awaken her resolve to end the conflict is even bigger. She is actively using every resource at her disposal to end the conflict, by being named Empress and also insuring support of as many of the orbital knights as she can to her cause. As seen not all of the knights are warmongers, there are still castles in orbit that did not attack UFE directly. So she walked the path from hiding, to empress of Vers that actively pursuits the goal of peace trough any resource and connection that she can acquire.
Second: OH NOOOES SLAINE IS TURNING EVIL, WHYYYY? There is a saying: the path to hell was paved with good intentions. Slaine started walking it with shooting Inaho and supporting Saazbaum until he can acquire the means for further power grasp. Don’t get me wrong, Slaine is my favorite character. He is a good guy, that was abused too much (Yes i am looking at Crutheo Senior). If he was treated better, then who knows? On top of that he was disappointed by Asseylum, i mean come on you are doing so much for a girl you love and then she starts talking about other guy, yeah right, like any of you won’t be filled with hate and disappointment. The life of Slaine is quite the tragedy, so instead of the bad guy, look at him as the tragic hero, trying to do the best but due to misfortune kinda slipping of the right track. Are his actions wrong? Maybe they are, but what matters is that they are justified - yes, every single one of them is dictated from reasoning and analysis of his current situation and trough the prism of the way he perceives the world.
So in conclusion i believe the scriptwriters are doing excellent job with this show. I am eagerly awaiting how all this wonderful story will end.
