You let out a quiet grunt as you yanked your blade from a manâs body, pulling a handkerchief from your pocket to wipe it down. The man clawed at your boots, whatever he was trying to say coming out as gurgles as blood dripped from his mouth. You kicked his hand away, grimacing at the streak of blood he left on you.Â
It wasnât long before the sounds of him struggling stopped and you let out a breath. You removed the ring from his finger and pocketed it, evidence that he was dead. He was a high priority target, youâll get paid nicely for the kill.Â
You made your exit, quick and quiet, making use of the alleyway system to stay out of sight until you were a comfortable distance from the crime scene. Your pace slowed when you noticed a familiar figure appear ahead of you, walking in the opposite direction.Â
His apartment was in that direction, you assumed thatâs where he was heading. You debated for a moment whether or not to cut him off, surprise him if you will. It wasnât often you got the chance to catch him off guard.Â
It was a quick decision as you rerouted yourself to cut him off in the most convenient manner and you perched yourself atop a fire escape. Not long after, you spotted the outline of your boyfriend in the distance again. Simon âGhostâ Riley.Â
You didnât get to see him very often. Both your current jobs keeping you separated most days. He mustâve just gotten back that day, it was rare that he wouldnât call when he was home.Â
As he got closer, an idea popped into your head and you quickly put it into action. You hooked one leg around the railing of the fire escape, making sure it would hold your weight. You waited a little longer, listening to the sounds of his steps before you slipped yourself off the fire escape, ending up a few feet in front of him, upside down.Â
âSurprise!â You smile, trusting the punch he threw out of defense would stop before it hit you.Â
âBastard,â you hear Ghost hiss out as he drops his fist. Despite the harsh name, you watched his face soften when he saw you. His usual cold demeanor warming up ever so slightly. You swear you could see a smile dance over his face for a split second before it went still again.Â
You chuckle out an apology before gesturing for him to come closer. Once he was in reach, you grabbed his face gently and pulled him into a kiss that quickly turned heated. âCouldnât help myself,â you whisper between kisses, smiling against Simonâs lips. His lips were rough, as they often were, but you couldnât help but love the way they felt against yours. âMissed you so much.â
Ghostâs hands found your arms and he mumbled something against your lips before separating. âCâmon down.â
âRight, one moment please, my good sir,â you tease before unhooking your leg and, with the help of Ghost, getting down on the ground.Â
You werenât down for more than two seconds before Simon had you backed against a nearby wall, his lips back on yours. Your hand moved to cup his face while his moved to your waist. Both of you were breathless when you parted, chests heaving as you looked at each other.Â
Ghost leaned into you, placing his forehead on yours. You smile up at him, rubbing your thumb along his jawline before you trailed your hand into his blonde hair, brushing your fingers through it. His eyes lidded as he moved to kiss you again, his hand traveling under your shirt to sit on your waist. âYour place?â You breathe out as he separates and leans down to kiss your neck.Â
He nods against you. âNow,â the desperate tone he had mixed with the roughness of his voice had your heart skipping a beat, your pants suddenly feeling too tight as you grabbed Simonâs hand and tugged him in the direction of his apartment.Â
springtime kisses in the rain -
inspired by this moodboard created by @burnthoneymint
rating: general audience, fluff, a quick taste of smut to come...and MAGIC, of course đ
word count:Â 1.3k
The sun shower passed almost as quickly as it came, and left the air filled with the freshness of spring and rife with the possibilities of romance. You couldnât help thinking in such poetic, starry-eyed termsânot only because you were a hopeless romantic by nature, but because of the company you kept. For this all too fleeting afternoon, anyway.
You had it bad for the man at your side, and that was without him even trying. There was a magic to Stephen Strange beyond that of his scarred yet talented hands, and it had you enrapt beyond any hope of resisting. Months of slow burn flirtationâinitiated by you and which he had hesitantly reciprocated at first, until he decided that he could trust you with his mind-boggling secretâhad finally blossomed into dating. Todayâs excursion to the Botanical and Butterfly Gardens of Central Park had been his ideaâthe picnic basket of decadent treats you carried, yoursâand the afternoon had been utterly charming until the rain began to fall.
Stephen had immediately ushered you beneath a canopy of cherry blossom laden branches for the duration, surprising you when he smoothed back your wet bangs so he could press warm kisses to your forehead, a low thrum of contentment rising from his chest as he went on to kiss the raindrops from your eyes and nose, to finally hover a fraction from your lips. âBetter?â he asked softly.
âMmmmmâŠmuch,â you had hummed, replying with eager kisses of your own. Savoring the divine plumpness of his lower lip, tugging it gently between your teeth as you had learned he enjoyed. Your heart racing with happiness when he pulled you flush against him, dizzying you with the sudden hunger of his kiss. Thatâs when you lost track of time, and barely held onto an awareness of Natureâs vital life all around you. Lost in the perfect play of his tongue in your mouth, while Stephen planted one hand on the center of you back, and daringly cupped the other upon your breast.
Releasing you from the growing demand of his kissâfor you both needed to draw deep gasps of airâhis voice went low enough to make you shiver. âYouâre delicious, darling. The sweetest taste Iâve had in years.â
You opened your eyes to find his riveted upon your face, their pale, sundrenched blue grown dark with the lust that the press of your body to his, had awakened. Compelled by equal desire, you gave bold assurance, âIâm a woman of many flavors, Stephen. And when the time is right, Iâd have you taste them allâŠâ
His gorgeous smirk told you he was more than ready to, and but for the rain and being in so public a place, heâd take you at your word this very moment. The heat of his gaze seemed to strip you bare, and you shivered again with longing to have it be so. âBut how careless of meâto let you catch a chill from the rain,â he teased, knowing full well that he was the true cause of your trembling.
âNo,â you protested, âNot at all, Stephen. When Iâm with you, IâmâŠIâm perfectly fine.â  More than fine, you were thinking; I could walk on air if you bid me to. I would happily drown in your kisses.
He lifted a brow as though heâd caught a trace of your secret admission, but soon smiled warmly, tilting your chin up to deliver a soft, chaste kiss, then leaned his forehead on yours. âSunâs out again,â he noted. âAnd look- thereâs a rainbow,â he motioned, so that you turned to spot it spilling through the swiftly retreating storm clouds.
âItâs beautiful,â you mused, sighing as Stephen wrapped his arms around your waist from behind. âDo you think the rain is done for the afternoon?â
He chuckled against your ear. âWell, if I have anything to say about it, then âyesâ.â Assuring you in his quiet way, that heâd use his power to keep any further rainfall at bay, if only to please you. Stephen scooped up the wicker basket that youâd let drop when his kisses had stolen both your attention and your will. âIf I recall correctly, thereâs a meadow dotted with wildflowers at the end of this path. Perfect spot for a picnic,â he suggested.
âLead the way, darling, and Iâll gladly follow,â you told him, offering up your hand. He took it gladly, his large hand engulfing yours as he tugged you along. Perhaps his eagerness meant he was hungryâthough you hoped it was as much for you, as for the sweet treats youâd packed for this outing. Several minutes later, he led you to a sunny spot at least a dozen yards away from the path.
Wildflowers abounded in a riot of brilliant colors, their petals beaded with water, and the tall grass too damp to recline upon. You pouted in disappointment, but not for long. âIâve got this, Y/N,â he promised, handing you the basket. Stephen took a look around, in every direction, making sure that there would be no witness but you to the spell he was about to cast. âPiece of cake,â he winked, and placed both hands waist high, palms down, and slowly moved them in a smoothing motion. You watched as the wet all around you became just water vapor, and then evaporated. How pleased he looked at his minor but timely bit of magic, as he dropped down to sit, before pulling you down onto his lap.
âStephen,â you exclaimed, more thrilled than surprised at the direction he now seemed to be leading you. Tangling his hands in your hair, breathing his warmth and his zeal upon the skin of your neck. âBut arenât you hungry?â you faux protested, and his answer came between kisses that smoldered upon your flesh.
âOnly for youâ, he vowed softly, âOnly and ever for youâŠâ You heard the low, dark honey of his voiceârich and seductive enough to make you forgo reason--but felt his words as well, like a spell imbedding them in your skin. Spreading like a delicious electric current down your spine and along your limbs to the very tips of your fingers and toes. Rousing your need to have him taste you in the ways youâd alluded to earlier. Leaving you panting, aching, wanting, whatever this master of the mystic arts might desire of you.
Though his will was ever the stronger between the two of you, the tatters of your modesty stirred you to a half-hearted plea, even as he laid you back upon the grass. âButâŠbut anyone could come alongâŠatâŠahhhhhhhâŠany timeâŠStephenâŠpleaseâŠâ
He hovered above you, the sun like a halo behind his head, though he had become as a fallen angel afire, his sinful desire for you clear in his molten eyes and in every line of his peerlessly handsome face. âNot to worry, dear. This too, I have the power toâŠrepair.â His eyes flickered with amusement, but never broke from your gaze, as you heard a crystal tinkling fill the air around you.
âOooooooooooo,â you sighed in happy understanding as the Mirror Dimension came to life around you. Such a handy trick that was! For a moment you wondered just how many other women heâd seduced with that simple yet brilliant bit of magic. Certainly you couldnât be the first. But as his lips explored the hollow of your throat, and heat bloomed in your belly at the slow trace of his powerful hand upon the diaphanous material draped across your thigh--on its way to touch you into bliss--you decided that for this afternoon it didnât matter one damn bit. For this afternoon, Stephen Strange was completely yoursâand if your luck held, he would be so until the sun faded from the sky, and the distant pinpoints of the stars shone above this field, where the seeds of love and desire would finally find willing, ready soil.
My thanks once again to @burnthoneymintâ , whose generous creations have served to inspire me once more! đđđ Â
You quietly unlock the door and tiptoe into the apartment. The small black bundle of fur inside of you jacket stirs and blinks up at you with big green eyes. You smile down at it as you deposit your keys in the bowl on the counter and set your bag of cat things on the floor. The apartment is dark save for the light over the stove and the all is quiet so you assume Sebastian is asleep, tired from the long months of filming. You quietly open the cupboard and pull out a small dish, then fish around in the next cupboard before pulling out a can of tuna. You set the little cat down, pull a fork out of the drawer. You crack open the can and start to fill the bowl with the tuna. As soon as the smell of tuna leaks from the can, the little thing starts meowing, mournfully and pawing at your calf.
âShhhh, baby, shhh, youâll wake up daddy and then youâll ruin the surprise,â you murmur, resting the fork in the tin.
The light in the hall flips on you and freeze as the kitten scoot under the chair at the sound of footsteps. Sebastian appears in the doorway, hair askew. Heâs naked save for his sleep shorts and he stops and rubs his eyes with a partial fist.
       âWhen did you get in?â
âJust a little bit ago. Did I wake you up?â
He shakes his head. âI heard meowing, but I mustâve been dreaming.â
âCouldâve been,â you say, flicking your eyes over to where the little cat is crouched under the chair.
âIt seemed so real,â he says, his eyes focusing on the open can of tuna in your hand. âTuna?â
You nod slowly.
â(y/n), what are you up to?â
You frown, âNothing.â Your gaze flicks again to where the cat is hiding.
Sebastian narrows his eyes and steps into the kitchen, eyes looking searching. The kitten darts under the small hutch that you have in the corner. Sebastian snaps to attention. âWhat was that?â
You sigh, âThat was supposed to be a surprise.â
       âWhat is that?â
âThat is a cat,â you sigh, setting the plate of tuna on the floor and drawing the little dude from under the hutch.
âSo there was a cat!â He crows rubbing a hand through his hair.
You nod, âYes there was. I found him wandering the street all alone and he just looked so scared. I couldnât leave him all by himself out there.â
Sebastian smiles at him. âWell, he is cute.â
âHeâs very cute.â
Sebastian sighs and looks back at you. âSo does, little man have a name?â
You smile wickedly. âHe does.â
âWell, tell me,â he says, moving to the floor to sit next to the cat and pet him.
âHis name is Chase,â you say, biting your lip.
Sebastian smiles and pets the cat on the head as he eats before it dawns on him. âChase. As in Chase Collins?â
You giggle and nod.
He stares at you for a moment and then breaks into a fit of giggles, scaring Chase a bit.
âYouâre scaring him!â you scold, softly as Chase wraps himself around your fit. You bend down to pick him up, cooing at him softly and scratch under his chin. He shuts his big green eyes and purrs loudly.
Sebastian stands up. âOh, I see how this is gonna be. Heâs a mommaâs boy.â He reaches out and scratches the cat between the ears.
âHeâll warm up to you, after all you did play his namesake.â
       He smiles, âYouâre so weird.â
âSo are you,â you murmur, setting the cat back down and letting him continue his feast.
Seb wraps his arms around your waist and kisses your temple. âThatâs why we mesh because we are just two weirdos in love.â
You smile, âYeah, we are.â You press your lips to his, humming softly as he cups your chin.
âThink Chase will be fine out here long enough to show you just how much this weirdo loves you?â
You glance at the cat who still happily eating his tuna. You slip from his armâs and fill a bowl of water for him, before patting his head. âI think weâre good for about 20 minutes or so.â
Sebastian smiles, âBaby, thatâs all I need that to make you scream.â
You giggle and grab his hand before dragging him to bedroom, leaving the little man to acclimate himself for the time being.
