Florian’s been very nearly deaf since he was around 5 years old, so you can’t blame him for not being able to hear someone talking to him that’s 1/100 or something bonkers like that of his size.
His little adopted borrower family uses sign language to communicate with him most times. Not any officially recognized version, more of an improvised personal set of signs. They love Florian as much as he loves them, but no one wants to constantly be shouting and still be only JUST heard.
