Thinking so much about my supernatural stuntdriver/filmwheel au it turned into a full post
Colt as a werewolf. He’s so dumb on full moons. Ryland has videos of him in college barking at his own reflection. His whole family is werewolves actually. Ryland who rarely fully wolfs out but it’s still inside of him. He likes pets and sometimes even though he doesn’t have a tail you can practically see it wagging behind him. Ryland is a good boy. Court who considers his wolf a liability. A big part of his training was learning how to suppress it. When Claire is in danger, however, all that training goes out the window. He’s an angry dog.
But back to Colt, he’s such a puppy dog. When he wolfs out he lays on Driver or Jody’s chests and nearly crushes them. He chases sticks and balls and whatever else is thrown for him. He’ll also run after things when they’re fake thrown, because he’s a little bit of an idiot. Colt gets along so well with normal dogs, especially Jean Claude. In fact, Jody often takes Jean Claude and wolfed out Colt to the dog park together. Colt chew on everything; chew toys, sticks, his crutches, himself. As a wolf, Colt has a much harder time pretending he’s fine. He whines so loudly when his back flares up, because of course the pain still affects him in wolf form.
Driver who's a vampire. He was born to a human mother and a vampire father. He was turned when he hit puberty as a coming of age ritual. He always looks so young because of that. When his mother killed the man, she used a silver kitchen knife. Driver’s gotten very good at hiding everything vampire about himself. He smiles with his mouth closed to hide his fangs. He makes excuses as to why he’s so pale. He avoids eating until he absolutely has to and when he does he feeds off criminals that no one would miss. Casey is not as good at hiding it as Driver is.
Casey’s bat form is a Fringed Myosis. He’s a small little thing. When he can, he feeds on bugs instead of blood. He sometimes sleeps under bridges instead of at his own apartment. Casey tends to hide inside during storms, not only hating the thunder but also because it makes it hard for him to sense his surroundings both when he appears human and as a bat. If anyone (Colt or Jody) lets him drink their blood, he’s so gentle. He helps bandage them up when he’s done. Casey gets extra cuddly on the rare occasion he has a full stomach.
Jody is a Siren. (I’m mostly bullshiting sirens work with me here) Most sirens live underwater but they can also live on land if they have legs (mostly happens from having human ancestors) and stay hydrated enough. Jody was orphaned when she was very young and there was no one in her pod who could take her in. When this happens, sirens will abandon their young in hopes that the humans they share the world with will take them in. Jody was adopted by a pair of fishermen. They did the right thing and left her on the rocks after feeding her but no one came to claim her. Jody’s parents raised her the best they could, not being sirens themselves, and they made sure she was enrolled in siren cultural programs.
Jody has a lovely singing voice, though she doesn’t use it to lure men in like her ancestors did because it is highly illegal. Her singing voice makes her very good at karaoke. Jody has one of those obnoxiously large water bottles that she carries with her everywhere to stay hydrated. She loves going to the beach with Colt because she loves swimming. Colt loves the beach for running along the sand, Jody loves the beach for the water (Casey doesn’t like the beach but he goes with them anyways). She wants so badly to direct a film under water with mostly siren actors but no studio will sign off on it. Jody enjoys cuddle time with Colt and Casey because pressure makes her feel safe.
