Eris was settled on her bed, knees drawn to her chest and back against the wall. Music was softly playing from the headphones around her neck; sure she could be wearing them properly but would she when this did just fine? Her tongue was barely peeking out from between her teeth, deep in concentration on her latest project. A series of sketch-pages capturing the ‘vibes’ of each member of the pack; something which she hoped to use as inspiration for another later project. Not just to be relegated to the realms of pencil!
Dark phalanges of her other hand idly traced the cover of her sketchbook, long since having memorised the way all the embossing felt beneath them. Her sketchbook was much beloved, a gift her Papa Jer had made just for her. She truly did treasure it, alongside every single gift any member of the pack had ever made for her. Though in some ways? This one felt extra special; a sort of investment in her interest, her life. An encouragement for her to never stop doing what she loved and what brought her joy.
She was so deep in concentration she almost missed the knocking on her door, only catching it on the second go around. Eris made a noise approving of their entry and heard the door opening, though she still only had lights for her work. Whoever it was could wait just one moment while she finished the detail she was focusing on. It was important, not to just stop in the middle of it. Besides, if it was really important, they’d just grab her attention. Feeling satisfied, she gently shut the book and put down her pencil.
Starry eyelights flicked up to see who it was, gaze landing upon her Mum; leaning casually against the doorway and watching her with a fond smile. Eris happily chirped in greeting, a sound readily returned by ASCII.
“Heya sweetpea, dinner’s about ready. Time to come down.” It offered by way of explanation for the visit. Eris appreciated it; very much. She didn’t mean to but she often lost track of time; meaning that having someone stop by and remind her to do things like eat was incredibly useful. She felt lucky the pack was so accommodating of her minor case of scatterbrain.
Drawing session done with, the gloves she typically wore were retrieved from her lap where they’d earlier been discarded; not wanting them to get in the way or get dirty. Once they were reinstated, her jumper sleeves were rolled back down next; no longer needing them out of the way either. She scooted off the edge of her bed, absentmindedly readjusting her stockings, and stood before her nightstand. Sketchbook safely stowed back inside; where it lived while not in use.
She heard her Mum affectionately chucking behind her at how ‘prim and proper’ she was being. Eris looked over her shoulder and stuck her tongue out, lightly thumping her tail against the bed for good measure. Sure she knew it was childish but she got it from somewhere and that was her mum! If someone like 10 billion times older than her could act like that, why couldn’t she? She saw it cover its mouth with a sleeve, shoulders shaking with silent laughter. A bright grin crept across Eris’ skull in response, tail giving a small wag. ASCII just shook its head and motioned for her to hurry up and come on over.
Stoking clad feet pattered across the room, pausing at the shoe-rack by her doorway. Her Mum might walk around the castle barefoot but she is better than that; she has standards, thank you very much! Not that she was actually judging it; this was just one of those playful points of contention. Her mum hated wearing shoes if it didn’t have to, Eris hated not wearing shoes when she was out.
Once she was in range ASCII moved to pull her into its side, arms slung over her shoulders; pressing a quick kiss to her temple. Eris purred softly in response, leaning into the affection; she’d pretty much never turn it down, from any member of the pack. That was her family and she loved them with her whole soul.
She tilted her head ever so slightly up, appraising it. ASCII’s current ‘face’ was that of a Swap, complete with a “cool” scar. Eris was full-well aware of just what her Mum was and didn’t care one single iota; why would she? So what if it was a virus and needed hosts? Her mum was great, beyond great, just as it was. Despite the teasing and being a total goofball, Eris wouldn’t change a single thing about it or any of her family. They are hers when it comes down to it, weird quirks and all.
“You know who’s coming tonight don’t you?” ASCII asked, teasing lilt to its tone. Bringing her out of her thoughts.
“Hmm?” Eris hummed in response, already having a pretty good idea of the answer from tone alone.
“Sorin and Co~”
Before the sentence was even finished Eris had broken away from her mum to do an excited little bounce, tail wagging hard. “Papa Sunny!!”
While it was only by a slim margin, Sorin was the parent she saw the least of; meaning she was always extra excited to get to spend time with him. She grabbed ASCII by the wrist and practically started dragging it down the hallway towards the dining hall; its laughter echoing off the walls as they went.

AN: Eris is my looovely daughter!!! Mostly literally bc she is the child of my uh althsona & all haha ^^
In canon/current time she's not even born yet but in this I'm thinking she's idk about 15-16? ASCII, my sona, was the carrier and Eris inherited both negative & positive magics. She's got a few cool things going on with that actually~
But I'm not talking about them here lol
