Implups A strange little species of imp like fellows who love praise. They will do anything for a thank you and good job, Even more for gifts and prizes. They tend to settle down in homes and do household chores everyday. Cooking, Cleaning, Child Care, and any other tasks are all done with a smile and a chirp. But watch out! Forget to praise and thank Implups results in them using their magic to make you absolutely miserable. Lost a shoe? Underwear suddenly hanging from the roof? Your Shampoo dyed your hair pink? These spooky looking critters are truly playful at best and loving companions. They are only dangerous when really pushed and abused. Beware their sweet chirping voices and mystical gaze or you’ll wish you had time to say “Sorry” before they get you. Body Shape: Implups have long whip like tails that start off fuzzy at the base. It is at the fuzzy Base Point that Implups sprout wings. These clawed wings can hold onto things, climb, or are used to grip and keep an Implup in place while they sleep. Implups mostly cannot fly nor glide*. They tend to climb and cling to walls or ceilings and prefer places with many open levels to jump and cling in groups. Implups have three eyes on their face. It is believed the third eye is capable of viewing souls and is needed for casting magic. Other theorize that they can see the future. Most agree that when an Implup opens its third eye at something that means there is more than meets the eye to the subject of their gaze. They also have two horns on their heads. The left horn and the right horn grow at different rates but it’s believed and studies show that the larger the right horn is the better the implup has been treated and raised. These implups are devoted to their masters and kind hearted. While the left horned Implups are cruel and won’t hesitate to use their powers to hurt those around them. Another interesting note is that horns can shrink or grow even larger over time. Left Horned Implups are more prone to lashing out and attach others beyond their masters. Implup Culture & Cruxis: Implups wear corsets to hide their open lower build rib cage. This ribcage keeps a glowing flame called Cruxis that is the source of their life and magical power. Implups only open their Ribcage to share Cruxis in order to reproduce. They usually decorate or design the corsets in ways to show off their own personal likes and hide the light of their cruxis. For them a corset being forced open is like a having one’s privates photographed and can be a source of much shame… and eventual hatred from them. It is the greatest way to enrage a Implup. Implups like to live in cities or villages with lots of people. As they can go around from home to home and work while being close to others of their species to communicate with. They have no spoken language and actually french kiss to communicate. They have long snake like tongues that are over three feet long. This kissing language has not been successfully translated to any other form and asking them to learn a spoken language is a huge mistake due to their Cruxis. It might be communicated by the movements of the tongue or by them snaking the tongue through the throat to reach the cruxis to speak in a soul to soul way. Nobody can say for sure which version is accurate. If an Implup looks as if it is about to speak it is best to run away. Their voices are capable of causing things to explode and catch fire around them. This is due to the cruxis beginning to vibrate inside their rib cage and those vibrations being released in harmony with their soft and sweet sounding voices that cause the explosions. During this time their Cruxis begins to act like a burning fire eating through the corset and starts to eat away at the body. If left screaming for too long they can die when the Cruxis consumes the entire body.. Left Horned Implups are prone to scream loudly when even slightly provoked while right Horns are far less likely to ever show this behavior. Implups are social creatures and need companionship of some sorts. Even if it’s just huddling with another creature Implups need some sort of contact. They usually join together late at night to sleep in massive Implup Huddles on top of roof support beams… They have also been a cause of support beam collapses in some places due to the number of Implups in there Huddles. Mating and Child Implups: Implups are physically genderless and only need their Cruxis to reproduce. Mating comes once every two or so months and falls on a full moon. Mating is preformed by huddling close together and holding each other hip bones with their wing hands as they kiss. The Cruxis begin to flicker and move between them. If lucky a third flame will spark and the parents bundle it tightly in a dark place and remain together until a child is formed. The child Implups have tiny even horns, stumpy tails with minimal fluff, starts of wings, a closed third eye and no corset. The child is small and covered in what appears to be a Cruxis Repellent down fluff that starts around their neck and continues down to their legs. That fluff allows them to spend the first years of life living inside the space in a parent’s corset. They lose the fluff as they age and grown into adults. They obtain a corset their young adult years of life when they become ready to leave their parents rib cage for extended periods of time. It is at this point that their down fluff falls out and the third eye can open or shut completely. Strange Rare Mutations: Blind eyes- The Third eye is either missing, permanently closed, or lacks an irias. These Implups are unable to cast magic and are more likely to stumble or fumble around spaces. They are also more likely to use their Voice when provoked first without any warnings. Odd Horns- Implups that are either missing horns or have too many horns on their head. Horn growth can be erratic and the usual left right horn rule does not apply. Flickers- Implups with very small Cruxis. They are weaker in magic but have large wing builds and shorter stumpy tails when fully grown. They have short life spans but are desired due to the fact that their offspring can sometimes fly like them. *Flickers and their direct offspring can fly. Flashers- Unlike every other Implup out there Flashers Like showing off their Cruxis. Look out because they tend to wear skimpy or revealing nightgowns instead of Corsets. SR Defiled-These Implups have past the point of no return... Using up so much of the Cruxis inside their ribcage caused them to go insane. Their bodies changed and their horns become stained with the blood of those they killed. Defiled are not like Normal Implups. Angering one does not lead to a harmless prank later. Defiled like to hurt others. and will go out of their way to harm even their own kind. Defiled are marked by Black Sclera, Unnatural Skin Pigmentation, and Broken wings or only a singular wing. They had lost almost all of their own Eye Magic and Refuel themselves by offering up their victims souls to an Unknown God... SR EverBurns- Poor poor dear, not long for this world. Born with Too Much Cruxis Fire inside that unlike other Implups, it cannot hide. The fires always burn consuming everything around it including the poor Implup who was born with it. That might be why the Everburns keeps a relatively fluffier Fire repellent tail then other Implups. But it might also be why Everburns are considered to Be trapped in child like bodies, even more so given that unlike every other Implup known Everburns will never grow the Iconic Tail Wings. EverBurns are marked by an out of control cruxis bursting out of them, Odd shaped horns (that follow regular horn rules), A fluffy Longer tail, No Wings, and are always producing strange colored tears. Rare Eye Powers: Basalisk- These Implups keep their Third eye closed most of the time. When opened they can freeze people in their tracks. Some say the see visions of horrible events while trapped. Illusionist- These Implups eyes can make whoever locks gaze with them see and hear things around them that are not really there. The effects can last for a few hours after the gaze. Warpers- These Implups can make things teleport or even summon up oddities when they stare at the focus of their attention too long. Things to keep away from Implups: - Mirrors their eye powers can effect them too and lord knows what could happen if they caught sight of themselves. - Coffee Like Hat Hoppers Implups will get sick. - Lighters… - Ashes and urns… Or else they will be squeaky clean when you get home... _______________________________________ IMPLUPS ARE A CLOSED SPECIES!
