Major Roommates || College AU || Clara & Jake
Cardboard was all he saw.
----- Jake grinned as he tried to navigate his way through the halls of the campus, finding his way by polite students who held doors open for him. The cardboard boxes in his arms rang silently because of the small portion of glasses in there.
It had to be somewhere around here-- His own apartment. Well, not necessarily an actualy apartment just for him. There was room for three students in the small connection of rooms, and he was the first that had applied. Seemed like that early application paid off, he thought while climbing the stairs in front of him as he balanced the final few cardboard boxes with his stuff in his arms.
Earlier this week Jake had come in to gaze at his apartment-- to take in the majestic rooms filled with-- with nothing, actually. But over the course of this week, the rooms were invaded by large moving boxes, most of them owned by Jake, but some of them owned by his one roommate, who he hadn't met just yet. That Oswald bloke would probably be here this time. Anxiously, Jake found himself standing in front of the door. Without spare hands to use his brand new key, he clumsily balanced the boxes between his upper body and the door, giving him just enough time and space to slide his hand in his pocket and reach for the key-- But then, a click rang through the hallway. Someone was opening the door.
And it was too late. Jake fell forward, as did the boxes, straight into the apartment, just slow enough to see someone jumping away. A giant clash with the floor was the result, the surprisingly quiet fall of the glass-filled boxes ringing through his ears.
