@sins-of-the-dragons a tag to the lovely because they said they wanna see it.
The following sample contains the next list of attributes: Stark!Reader x Jacaerys Velaryion, established relationship between two betrothed individuals, betrothal for political advantage, Stark!Reader having an established seat in Rhaenyra's small council. Stark!Reader who proposed the North's way of dealing/bonding with the common folk and ended up with the title of 'The Black Queen's tongue', basically Rhaenyra's speak person for public appearance. Stark!Reader who slowly formed a bridge between the common folk and Rhaneyra's rule to prepare them through time and get them willing to fight for Rhaenyra at some point and this is the said point.
The men who have enrolled for Rhaenyra's cause were invited to a feast before the battle, something also proposed by Stark!Reader to motivate the men/put them in a good mood, and this is the speech that follows that feast + the speech held after they returned from battle.
Please enjoy!
Lady Stark took another breath, a small moment to regain her strength before she continued carefully.
--------
"There will be some of you who will not return, and for those of you who will, you will never again be the same. And yet with all of this in mind, aware of the possibilities of what war brings you selflessly chose to go to battle for those that are to come after you. For those who will be brothers, fathers, sons, sisters, mothers, and daughters once you have passed. The safety of the realm and peace, as we know, lie within your hands and sacrifice! For that, I believe I speak in the name of all, from lords and ladies to priests, septs and masters to the simple common folk such as yourself, thank you!" Ria said before continuing.
"Your sacrifice will not go unnoticed! Your blood, sweat, agony, and unhappiness will not be in vain! We wish to commemorate all of you who will fall in battle and all of you who will return from it. A grand monument, for all of you brave men who stepped forward when your queen had called for you and you have answered her call! The names of every one of you, written permanently in a marble column so that history will remember and honor you accordingly, but not only history but us too who live with you now."
"I salute you. Every one of you, stronger than I and braver than most. The path ahead is a storm like no other, but if you are to march victoriously from it the realms themselves will forever hold your gratitude! You will all fight with the strength of demigods, for your queen has called upon your aid so that your friends and those who will be your friends in the future will live and your blood will live!
For those of you who may not return or those who will come back no longer as whole men, we will see that all will be taken care of. And for those of you who have family who happens to reside within the land taken over by the greens fear not! The queen is not unjust and unfair! She is not as cruel as the greens have declared her to be! We will not punish those who are forced to fight on the opposing side! We will not ridicule or be unable to forgive them for being unfortunate to be stuck on the other side of the realm! There are more of you low-born than us high-born. For the fact that you have chosen to willingly fight under our queen, we are utmost grateful to you! You will fight on the battlefield, and we will see that we do whatever it is in our power, wealth, land, health, or other ways that the queen needs of us so that you and your loved ones will be compensated! The change will be drastic, and the time until things return to how they were before will be merrier. But it will be possible thanks to you!" She wasn't done just yet.
After the battle
"Let us raise our cups! Let us drink together! A toast! For your families who will look after your homes while you are gone! For you, brave men who will fight in battle! For the lords and ladies who will spend their coin in the realm's best interest! For the realms that we live in and wish to protect and cherish from selfish and greedy hands! For the Queen who protects all of us! And to the Gods who will watch upon us all and grace us with their mercy and lend us their strength!"
"You, brave men, have gone to better and proved victorious. Some of you came back. Some of you do not. If you remember or not, and if you don't, I do not blame you. Before you left for battle, we promised a column with your names engraved on it.
"Let us cheer for those of you who came back, and let us commemorate and cherish the memories of those who passed so that you can be here instead! Enjoy the food, enjoy the drinks, enjoy the music! Tomorrow is another day the sun will rise, a day in which the memories of those who passed will not be forgotten! All of the losses will be met accordingly. We may be unable to meet them immediately, but the moment this war is over it will be seen so that they are done with as soon as possible! Let us drink for you all and for our queen who will bring the seven realms back to peace! Queen Rhaneyra!"
While you were away your children spoke of you.
Your wives and sisters too. Your mothers weren't left out of the matter either. And we had put to work your names on this tall monument, but not just your names, but who you were. We have a Horace who likes pie. We have a Joseph who sings.
We have you as your families described you best, may it be something you were good at or something you loved. Something to remember you by. All of you! And for those who left because they had nothing back here you too are up there with everybody else. Those of you who had no family of your own before are up there. Your neighbours or people from the market remembered you. Whether you returned or not, you are up there. Every single one of you. Simple men who turned into heroes forever in history. You are the proof that all is possible! For your families now and for those who will be here long after you have passed. You came back and you helped us gain a much-needed step closer to ending this war once and for all and to finishing the senseless losses that should have never happened!"
