Block Week: SURPRISE An enchantment in a strange colorset that lets you cheat out huge creatures, aided by cards that set the top of your deck (Crystal Ball) and bounce creatures (Crystal Shard). The card is hurt a bit by its colorset. Sedris can't run this because its green, and Roon can't run this because it's red. However, it makes a fun addition to an Intet deck that allows you to function without your commander on the field. Riku also benefits from it as the creature isn't stamped with the sacrifice clause, the copy he creates stays. Worldspine Wurm is a prime target for this. Pelakka Wurm grants an enter the field and death effect, as does Thragtusk. The titans are helpful as you'll get their enter the field and attack triggers. Overall, Inpromptu Raid belongs to a strange colorset that slightly plays against its own effects, but brings more interesting tech to the table for Gruul to play with, and gives Intet and Riku an interesting toy to play with.

MtR Rewording: The Scuzzback raid whenever hunger intersects with desperation.
While some might find this card's flavor text funny, I wanted to change up the tone a little bit. The Scuzzback gang are Shadowmoor's red-green faction, and as such are driven by both instinct and emotion. I liked the general idea of being ready to fight all the time, but tried to make it a little more green, rather than giving it purely red flavor. I wanted to guess at their motivations for doing so - as their numbers grow, there is less food to feed the warren, driving them to hunt and to kill. I made it clear that hunger and desperation drive these actions, rather than just bloodlust.
...Though bloodlust is probably still a big part of these motivations.
