Did you even read the original post tumblr staff made? They didn’t rely on facebook or twitter. They investigated the bloggers with the government and discovered which blogs had ties to Russia. That the IRA had infiltrated tumblr was already known before tumblr took action. In fact, people had been criticizing tumblr for not responding to the fake news threat on this site.
Just to be clear to everyone: this person is insulting me and saying I’m not really devoted to causes like Black Lives Matter, simply for correcting misinformation and stating the fact that the list of bloggers tumblr deleted were Russian IRA agents. It’s exactly this kind of behavior that results in people buying into propaganda and sows distrust and division among progressive communities.
