the   force   from   the   impact   pushed   his   breath   out   of   his   lungs   as   he   found   himself   with   his   back   pressed   against   the   wall,   her   shorter   stature   effortlessly   steering   to   pin   his   own   bulkier   frame   .   their   sparring   had   been   rewarding   as   well   as   exhausting   but   he   felt   as   if   her   retaliation   had   become   more   about   personally   gathered   anger   rather   than   recreational   sports   .   beads   of   sweat   dragged   wet   lines   down   his   brow   bones   and   into   his   hazel   eyes   ,   the   salt   stinging   them   closed   .   his   lips   stretched   and   thinned   ,   giving   way   to   a   poised   smile   and   a   neatly   concealed   shock   at   her   brutality   .

𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐈𝐑, seeking purchase in her lungs. A moment ago she had stood at attention, half listening to the scheduled speaker while the rest of her senses remained attuned to the room at large. The warning that cried out through the force came too little too late, granting her time enough only to turn before the grand hall exploded into ruin, sending the general to her knees. 

So many lives, gone in an instant. Like a wound, the anguish of the living thrummed, and though it caused its own sort of pain, Shaak Ti closed herself off to their suffering. Her efforts were better spent on those not yet beyond aid. Ash rendered the entire assembly to pale ghosts, dulling even the red shock of her own skin; yet there was no mistaking 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙻𝙰𝙳𝚈 𝙸𝙽 𝙶𝚁𝙴𝙴𝙽, the one whose care had been placed in her hands. 

“Senator.” Gentle but urgent in her touch, she eased the young Ralltiirian up, mindful of any injuries that might remain unseen. Around them the crowd stumbled, half blind in their panic, and she offered her own body in protection, hovering. “The summit has been compromised ------- we must leave, immediately.”
