The hardest part of writing Star Trek fic...
isn't getting the characterization correct. That's pretty easy for me. It's my anal retentive need to be accurate about canon details about Enterprise. It's actually easier to do the research on the scientific aspects of any story than it is to find out how long it'd take the Enterprise to get from Earth to Jupiter on impulse engines, because we all know you don't use warp drive between planets in the same system. This one little point is stalling my entire story.
If anyone knows how long it takes, please let me know. I'm going to go with 6 hours. If you don't think that's a reasonable amount, please let me know. I trust my fellow Trekkies to know.
