i have a gigs phasmo au where impulse was a seasoned ghost hunter in the eighties before he got ghostificated and modern ghost hunters gggs (grian, scar, gem, skizz) come to hunt him

he died by drawing the hanged man from the deck of tarot cards - whenever he went into a house when he was alive and working he very often beelined for the cursed object, the cards being his favourite. he has escaped so many ‘death’ hunts, and one of the only two cards he hadn’t pulled (until his death, that was) was the hanged man. the other card he never pulled was the high priestess, which he completely believed was a myth, just a lie Big Ghost-Hunting told them so they didn’t give up hope and quit. even after his death, his friends/team went through the rest of the deck trying to draw it, only to fail, solidifying his disbelief.

and all that leads up to when he kills scar (probably with the deck, his own cursed object) and scar is comparatively unworried, telling impulse they’ll just revive him. impulse is mid-way through a spiel on how the high priestess doesn’t exist when someone draws a card, and scar’s pulled back into his body with a slightly smug look
