He frowned. Did she really think that something like this would stay a secret here at Hogwarts? Even the darkest corners seemed to have eyes and nothing would stay hidden for long. But everytime he was alone with her - Everytime they met in the darkness, in secret, the young Malfoy felt the urge to just scream it out even though it would destroy not only his but also her reputation. 

And right now was just a terrible situation. He knew that one day it would come to this - it was a stupid idea to meet in one of the class rooms while every student could roam the castle. “Stay quiet? Are you kidding me - I only have to move a little bit and we both fall out of this damn closet, why did you even want to meet up in a classroom? That was stupid, Granger, stupid!” he hissed, glaring at her. 

He tried to keep his voice down, the students now sat down by one of the tables and flipped through the pages of a spell book, obviously looking for something specific meanwhile Draco and Hermione stood in a closet, their noses almost touching while they glared at each other. 

“Stupid-”

“Matt stepped forward, wolfish grin on his lips. “Does that mean that you love me then?”

It was the first time she saw the scar. She truly hadn’t meant to walk in on him like that but Hermione had been convinced there was no one there. At first she’d been shocked about it but now she was looking into his eyes instead of the scar tissue on his face.

      “You don’t scare me.”

Percy was so surprised when the bathroom door opened. He hadn’t been expecting one to be here. He had been in the middle of shaving--there was shaving cream covering half his face, and the scar was exposed. He opened his mouth uncertainly, and then she spoke. He glanced down uncertainly, instinctually touching the marred skin. 

              “I -- er, I appreciate that, Hermione.”

Ask the mun about their writing.

So, funny story. I really don’t. There are points in movies where I can say: that scene. That scene defines me and my writing (because I primarily write TV/movies these days). But for literature, I’m kind of an in-the-moment gal. I haven’t come across a quote that I can think of at the top of my head and be like yes. This is it. This defines me. 

I know this answer is kind of disappointing, and I’m sorry for that.

“It’s called a phone, Percy,” she corrected him, an amused smile on her lips. “Alright. If you want I can take you to a place where they sell some. They’re not cheap though.”

“Oh. Oh. Like -- the phone booths for the Ministry.” Well, that made a lot more sense now. Why hadn’t he thought of that before? Also he did not appreciate that smile on her lips. Goodness, he hoped she wasn’t judging him. “Well, I happen to have a little more money thanks to my position. I can convert wizard money to muggle money, so it shouldn’t be a problem.” Audrey was worth it.

286. “Get out of my head!”

“Hermione,” Percy called out to her, approaching slowly. “Hermione, it’s me. It’s Percy!” He did not know what spell had been cast on her to make her act to erratically, but Percy tried a neutralizing spell. “You’ll be okay, I promise --” People were being attacked all over, but Percy avoided it to make his way over to her.

Heads Common Room

Draco sat in the chaise in front of the cackling fire, he was just dressed from a much needed shower and was warming himself in the Head’s Common Room. It was something of a joke that he’d won the position of Head Boy for his 8th Year, a mandatory year of schooling as determined during his Wizengamot trial. His presence back at Hogwarts was dragon dung and had something to do with war reparations and ‘giving back to his community.’ This term, Draco was taking two courses on Muggle Studies. It made him want to retch. He just knew McGonagall was itching to order him about. 

He had yet to meet the head girl and hoped to bloody hell that the person he thought might win the position wouldn’t be the one that would walk through the Heads’ Common Room door. 

Draco hardly any energy to get up and tidy the Quidditch practice gear he’d peeled off himself as he’d dragged himself back to his quarters after a grueling practice in the rain. The last thing he needed right now was to engage in a battle of wills with a certain headstrong muggleborn Gryffindor.
