The quiet tragedy of finishing a brilliant book, only to discover it's just a literary black hole. No new readers. Zero discourse. Just me, screaming into the void about how good it is.

Terra reminds me a bit of Imriel (though there are still some differences between them). They’re both dark and moody with a surprising streak of sweetness. And they can be impulsive and intelligent in their own way. I’m also pretty sure that they’re both ISFPs.
Oh man… I’m rereading Kushiel’s Mercy now and I have almost zero sympathy left for the D’Angelines who are against Imriel and Sidonie’s relationship because their loved ones suffered during the Skaldi invasion. Like, they have a right to grieve and be sad and angry, but it’s fucked that they are hating and judging Imriel just because his mother was a traitor. And it looks like a lot of people in Terre D’Ange think the same way.
At this point, if I were him I would be tempted to just leave them all to their fates after the Carthage spell happens, if Phedre, Joscelin and Sidonie weren’t caught up in it.
In the final part of Kushiel’s Mercy, the race is really on now to save the City and prevent a civil war – and the gods are watching…
In part six of Kushiel’s Mercy, a war is fought and won, and justice is delivered – but the fight isn’t over yet… This week’s host is Allie at Tethyan Books, and we’re covering chapters 63 through 75. Spoiler alert!
In the fifth part of Kushiel’s Mercy, Imriel and Sidonie escape to sanctuary in Aragonia, but there’s a price for their safe passage home. Politics strike again… This week’s questions are courtesy of Lynn at Lynn’s Book Blog, and cover chapters 50-62. Spoiler alert!
In the third part of Kushiel’s Mercy, Imriel makes his way to Carthage – in a guise unlike any we’ve seen before. Will it prove to be the clever undoing of Astegal, or the deadly undoing of Imriel himself? This week’s questions are courtesy of Emily at Emma Wolf, and cover chapters 23 to 35.
It is time for Part 3 of Kushiel’s Justice, and this week the story uproots Imriel to Alba – where he promptly finds new ways to get himself in trouble. Of course. In this week of the Read Along we’re covering chapters 15 to 22, and our host is Lynn at Lynn’s Book Blog.
