An Accident
They had been fighting for five weeks now. Gage was being his stupid self and had said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Gian walked down the corridor that lead to the German hallway. As he was making his way closer to the classroom, he saw his boyfriend at the end of the hallway being intimately close with a girl from his grade.
Maybe the girl was just too quiet and Gage had to lean in to hear her? Or maybe he was being a dumbass.
It was five weeks later and Gage was still asking for forgiveness.
"Come on, Gian. I said I was sorry!" Gage trailed behind the junior as the crowd of teenagers tried to make it to their next class.
Gian continued to stay quiet as he trekked his way over to a side staircase. He needed to go to choir and it was on the first floor, two floors down. Gage had gym so Gian was stuck with him the whole way.
Gage tripped on the stairs as he raced to catch up with his boyfriend. "Look. It was a whole misunderstanding! I would never do something that would upset you!"
As they turned around the corner to go down the next flight of stairs, Gian stopped. Letting Gage run right into him. "Will you listen to me?"
Gian stared back with no emotion, waiting.
"Finally. Look. Me and her, we used to date. She wa" Gage couldn’t finish his sentence as Gian pushed him with such force, he fell backwards down the concrete stairs. He hit his head on the metal railings as he hit the last couple steps, the sound of a bone snapping echoed throughout the hallways.
Gian had dropped his act faster than the speed of light. He raced down the steps as humanly possible, rushing to get to his boyfriend's side.
"No, no, no, no."
Gage laid on his back, eyes shut but still breathing. With every breath, a wince would follow.
"Shit, no. I didn't mean to hurt you!" Gian slid his hand under Gage's head and started to lift the senior up from the floor.
Gage grabbed at his side as a pain shot up to his shoulder.
Bad idea. Got it. Gian helped Gage lie back down on the cold, hard floor. Slipping off his plaid shirt, he rolled it up to act like a pillow for his boyfriend.
"I, uh... I think it's a broken rib." A whisper was all he could pull together.
"Okay, Um. Where's your phone?"
"Back pocket."
Gian reached behind to slip the mobile out, Gage giggling as much as he could at the touch.
"Hello? We need an ambulance at Farmington High School." Gian quickly blurted out the situation as Gage was rubbing his chest.
It was later that night and Gian sat at Gage's bedside as it was only a fracture in his ribcage.
"I'm sorry." Gian didn’t want to hurt Gage at all.
"I was a dumbass. I should have explained better." Gage lifted his bed up to an angle so he could look at Gian better.
"I shouldn't have been so aggressive." Gian reached forward and grabbed his boyfriend's hand, letting their fingers tangle between each other.
"Let's just say we're both major idiots." Gage broke out his legendary smirk and squeezed the junior's hand.
"We are." Gian blushed and smiled.
"Am I forgiven?"
"Yes. Am I?"
"Yes."
The two laughed and their smiles brightened the room. Their love was contagious. It would last forever.
