I saw this hand puppet the other day in a very good antique shop (one of my favorite shops). The base is made from a single piece of walnut that has been painted several times. The puppet is made of oak or ash. Over the years. The base and the end of puppet have been modified so that puppet fits into the base securely. It looks like the puppet lost wood and the base added wood. It looks like he had a hair mustache at one point.
