So my one primary comic book art professor back in college had a personal pet peeve around this like nondescript purple anime background character thing and for a while I believed her that it was poor quality and then I finally realized FUCK IT anime does it because it WORKS and I don't have ALL DAY to color all these background characters!!! AHHH!!!!!!

Out of nowhere I got motivation to work on this again. Despite not touching it for a year I've spent the whole time thinking about the visual art style and now I'm putting it into practice. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I do need to remake our font though.

Also there was some other short comic we drew for this a few years ago and I cannot find it anywhere and its driving me nuts I'm wondering if I hallucinated the whole thing. Like I was looking for it because I was gonna redraw it anyway but... Sheesh.

Was looking at some other people's art of characters with big wings and I wanted to draw Sophie in this pose but I'm like, but who would she be sheltering? Oh, but what if it was the sun. Because Quin's heat tolerance is shit. And he we are.

The rendering wound up a bit wonky due to experimenting with part of the workflow but I'm still really happy with this in the end. I think the anatomy turned out great and it just says a lot about both characters lol
