Examples of times I was genuinely too into games:

Spiritfarer: I didn't leave the couch I didn't eat. I didn't drink water. I only got up to pee. Didn't shower. I sobbed dramatically Everytime I had to say goodbye. I called everyone a familial name aloud. I pretended some of them were my dead grandparents. I mourned the loss of a son I had for like 10 hours total.

Among Us: I timed how long it took to do tasks on every map and wrote them down. Then, I set a timer for that everytime I was imposter. I also made my own physical skeleton map on paper of every map, and labeled where each vent went to/connected

Uno: I literally just beat everyone every time I played uno. I'm not good at card games. I don't know what I'm doing. I guess I found a pattern in the people I'd play with and got really good at one point.

Sims 4: 2023.6 hours of game time. 84 days in a year. I don't have anywhere close to that amount of game time on any game. Made while storylines for 20+ households all interconnected. Wrote some down to remember, even. Still remember most of them. Was in CAS for 6-8 hours straight several times. Created a spinner wheel for all the CAS personalization options (gender, clothing pref, sexuality, voice, aspiration, traits) Created individual spinner wheels for traits to give specific Sims as they got older. Researched folklore of specific regions, the creation of countries, naming practices of countries, and the history & meanings of several names to "accurately create characters" for Sims that nobody but I was going to play with. Shit ton of family tree shenanigans when I added new Sims to the lore & family tree with families that had 20+ members at this point. Eight of my sims had maxed the life goals and several aspirations and most skills (no cheats) so they had almost every fucking trait under the sun. This is just for my steam files and not my xbox files.

Love Nikki: I actually finished an event (I never finish game events)

Osu!: I was actively interrupting the lives of others with my osu problem. (My brother couldn't sleep because I would play at night and then clicking was loud and annoying.) (I would start clicking the keys on my Chromebook to the sound of music teachers played in class. Students asked me to stop.) I made osu maps in my head to the songs I would listen to (some of them I actually made later.) I was able to play & pass 3 star songs (mostly A Rank) on a track pad and nearly got really good at playing 4 star songs. On a track pad (I was B ranking most 4 star songs). On a track pad of a really old laptop that could rarely run osu without lag. On a laptop in which the keyboard keys wouldn't work unless you slammed them or pressed the key right next to them. On a laptop which didn't turn on unless it was plugged into the wall with the charger. Please think about that, guys. Think about the dedication I had. Also I didn't use the z and x keys I literally used the click keys on the trackpad. Which barely responded unless you were pounding them with all the force of your fingers.
