Been listening to Kacey Musgraves tonight. The radio stations in my part of the country don’t play her music very often but I had a lab partner in my undergraduate microbiology course who was a big fan. Thanks to youtube I was able to find her music, I wanted to try something different and I love it to this day. I’m going to a conference next week for an organization I’m on the student committee of because I clicked a zoom link to the meetings by accident and kept showing up. Heck, I’m doing my PhD in a program I found by accident during my Master’s program (which I also found by accident by clicking on the wrong link while looking up something else) because some random classmate told me it had an equivalent cause to one I wanted to take. If I had never tried anything I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere, or at least not anywhere interesting. Sometimes I resent how some people are just able to...follow the rules and have life just kinda work out while I have to be creative and take sometimes stupid risks but...at the same time it’s nice to know that new opportunities can be just one click away.
