Will be interesting to see what will happen in the US broadly with concerts over next few months. Vaccine is pretty easy to get here- most adults I know are fully vaccinated or will be within next month, and if they aren't it is because they have decided not to get it. But I think all of your points about a tour that can't be global are very valid. Also if vaccine is required then that'd cut under 18 out of the audience which is a big group for any artist but esp Harry and Louis.
Thanks anon - I am really interested in these questions and other people’s thoughts.
If anywhere is going to be commercially viable by itself it’s the US. So I think it’s possible, but there are real challenges. The two questions I’d really like to know are: When do they need to make a decision by? And how desperate is ‘Love on Tour’ the business?
I don't know what the proposals are around requiring proof of vaccination in the US, or how likely they are to actually happen. The proposals in the UK seem to me to be a level of bio-surveillance that should be actively opposed. With the added bonus of the public health purpose being very unclear.
In general, I'm confused about what the advantages of a requirement to show vaccination status would be. Even more so today than usual, because someone who had been fully vaccinated has just tested positive in NZ. The purpose of requiring vaccinations would vary, depending on how much they prevented infection and transmission, which we don't know. The rationale behind vaccine passports (or Britain's even worse vaccine and testing passports) doesn't seem to be being fully articulated. Who would they be protecting?
Anyway - I suspect the idea will fall at the logistical stage - so those questions aren't that relevant.
To go back to the starting point about the possibility of Harry doing his August tour (and maybe Louis doing a US leg of the tour before the end of the year although the cost/benefit of that one works out quite differently I think). The key thing will be certainty - if there's questions like 'might vaccines be required?' then touring won't be possible.
Minsan napapasabi na lang akong "Pwedeng sya na lang? Pwede bang sya na lang talaga?" May pagkamakulit talaga kasi ako eh. Pero lately, yung prayers ko, hindi na yung "pwede bang sya na lang, gawan natin ng paraan" hindi na ganon. Hindi na sya yung pinagpray kong lalaki for me. I maybe makulit and persistent pero recently nagbago yung prayers ko for him. For his betterment, not for my own selfish wish.
any good movies out right now?
