I think a setting/subject that seems to not be covered enough is historical settings with aliens. I'm specifically not talking about Ancient Aliens shit, so no Ancient Egypt or Stonehenge or anything like that. I just mean the concept of aliens and pre-modern humans interacting in actually interesting ways instead of the aliens being purely beneficial to humanities evolution. I think the technological disparity between an alien invasion and a group of 14th century knights—just as an example—lends itself well to horror or otherwise horror-adjacent stories. It could also be hilarious if that's the direction you'd want to take it.

"Them" from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the only example I can think of off the top of my head, although it does take place in Termina and not Earth. The Celestial Minion from Bloodborne is close, although they only appear to be aliens rather than actually being so. The Krafayis from the Doctor Who episode "Vincent and the Doctor" could also count if you wanted to include it, but I don't feel as though 1890 is far back enough in time for what I'm going for.

rewatching Gilmore girls to fall asleep bc it’s a comfort show I’ve seen a million times and obviously plunking myself down into Jess era bc I am nothing if not a Tumblr ™️ girlfag oops. I started but didn’t finish the reprisal series when it came out because Rory is such a godawful bitch it’s like, unwatchable, but now it’s fun to look for breadcrumbs to her horrible personality. Exhibit A when she insists on being a debutante under extremely little duress from her grandmother and to the hefty chagrin of Lorelai. like Rory could have ended up a bookish lesbian at Smith college but instead she went full dickdown into her own class position after keeping a few working fellas on the hook for a couple years. Should have fucked off with motorcycle jacket dad copy literate bad boy when she had the chance.

got the bed frame, set it up/assembled it, got into bed last night, and a half hour later dismantled the whole thing and put the matress back on the floor. the light was all wrong from that height!! and also mehhh I don't really like how beds look in any case. and this particular one is passable but heinously uncomfortable compared to the cheapest possible ikea one I just replaced, so. to the list of Craig it goes. no great loss...
