Angie gets it. She’s been doing the same...ever since she started this whole thing. It hasn’t even been that LONG-- she’s only been trying to be a hero for a few months. When she first got her powers, it took her a while to even think about being a superhero. Hiding it from everyone, concealing her new abilities, AFRAID of them and unsure of what she should do. And then...her brother died. Nicky died, and she DIDN’T stop it when she could have. That’s when she knew...she had to STAND UP. She had to try and do something, couldn’t just sit back anymore.
Even after that realization, though, things are still...DIFFICULT. She doesn’t know WHAT she’s doing, she doesn’t know how to fight or how to be intimidating or how to take down criminals, and even though she seems to get pretty LUCKY sometimes, she still has no clue what she’s doing. Every time she runs into a fight, every time the hairs on the back of her neck begin to stand, every time she hears a GUNSHOT that rings through the air-- she’s terrified.
An attempt to swallow the lump in her throat, before she nods her head, legs swinging off the ledge of the rooftop. “I....I get it. Um-- I...I pretend I’m not scared too, if that-- uh...if that means anything-” Shit, this is hard. She doesn’t know how to just...OPEN UP like this. “It’s...okay to be scared sometimes, you-- uh, you know? I mean, fuck it, EVERYONE gets scared, you’re-- uh...you’ll be okay in the end...yeah?”
