So fresh kinda saw what error & ink were doing & how they built onto their own forms & took many notes & decided to do his own thing but for like. Throwing things off bc hes an evil tank cleaning esque creature thing explained here & he did shit like that for a while & just kinda mindfucked aus that he found to be intetesting,, which one day led him to finding a dreamtale au.. where somn is from.. & he saw little child somn being socially isolated & was like "yes perfect you will be my patient 0 for uhh my cute little corruption plan" so he was the voice in the tree so to speak,, & im still rethinking how somn actually goes into corruption since before i had it go around him (somn) having gone coocoo & coming up with it on his own + random scary voices in the tree but now i have a good SOURCE for that voice. Fresh yes. & he basically takes him one day after he gets corrupted & then yay evil corruption propaganda & subsequent hivemind religion is born hoorah
Oh & corruption was a natural thing that happened before fresh's time, but he took the idea of completely deteriorating aus & adding such to some weird beliefs & ran with it
But fresh is the one that gets somn to focus on corruption within aus & building onto his already weird view on souls being pure or whatever it is that i was trying to make out of it earlier this year.. but hes kinda an evil jimeny cricket or the devil/angel on somn's shoulder, giving him his ideas on what to target, how to expand the religion beyond direct influence (the websites 🤤)
But yeah i like to think fresh started off as a 8 bit pixel thing, to a jealous pixel thing fucking everything up, to a voice in a childs head, to the voice guiding/manipulating a cult leader & still ruinining timelines

Wow im looking back at the initial notes with the cowriter ( @3mpiresz ) there is so much i forgot about 😭 also yeah lots of credits to that peak guy earlier in the year he helped me sort out alot of this & helped build the personalization a LOT so Thank You Empire!!!!!!The goat!!!!
*quick thing about the process for reanimating these recruits; they would not remember much of their previous life depending on how much attatchment somn would allow to remain intact (corruption can be made to tamper with certain parts of their code/memory/habits) & can easily manipulate their state into being more reliable to him & whatnot- the fact that they essentially become held together by corruption results in them having to strictly stay around aus high in negativity/negative corruption or spend very short amounts of time away from aus or.. itll eat away at their health yayy! So horror & dust primarily stay in the base au due to having the weakest forms compared to killer who basically got a brand new soul & doesnt need as much external negativity to stay intact.. while the other two only have fragments of their original souls. They dont remember their original names, & have difficulty recollecting their past knowledge unless specifically tied to their death
Dust & horror had some of their organ systems kept intact rather than fully removed because somn wasnt.. fully sure how to keep them stable on a fragmented soul & also just likes to keep them tethered to him bc why not, killers were unsalvageable by the time he was brought back, he also gets his own soul, so thats why he doesnt have any (horror has his digestional system intact to further hunger pains, & dust has his lungs because I said so.. honestly horrors organs were kept mainly for punishment ehile dust just.. kept his lungs idk 😭)
Okay so somn, in attempt to make sure that the overall masses of corruption would not be ruined by any.. undesireable soul types or individuals, he would target those only with the prefered hieghtened soul impurities (such as those who are overly paranoid, angry, sad) & with that was very specific with the ones he would chose for his own mtt, which the goal with that was to make them seem more approachable in public spaces yk bc.. after he does his magic shit they look like a typical sans.. so he'd find characters from aus which resembled other killer/horror/dust variants he had been told about by,, the evil trickster god bc that guy has access to stuff in regards to other utmv's outside of this specific utmv through the digital realms,, which also ties into the previously mentioned webpages since he too decides which aus would be fun to mess with 🤤 so hed use that along with *this guys* au info to track down suitible little dudes... he also found them bc of how much negativity they radiate & hes also sort of able to.. sense important au events before they occur.. which allowed him to intervene in the deaths of horror & dust!! He was a bit late with killer lmao
Horror was the first one that Somn decided to work with in terms of his reanimation skills, not really knowing how to start with it.. so he stalks & taunts the guy for a few weeks. Horror, being in a.. not necesssrily a horrortale au but an au suffering from famine, worked in a hardly functioning butcher shop with his brother & was basically being tormented by somn leaving dead animals, rotten food, etc due to how little edible options this au had by that point, leaving horror to be extremely worried because of fear that others would be suspicious of where he was even getting the food from since any areas that did still have food were closed off to any public access/on the brink of having nothing at all,, so he takes some of it for a while to pawn off & some salvagable bits to save for himself & his brother,, he also heavilu disliked the idea of him beinf the only one helped by somn because he believed his entire au deserved to be saved (you see this is not a true horrortale au at all because this one is a Kind Fellow). During this time, somn would attempt to introduce him to his corruption beliefs as those who were introduced to it beforehand were the only ones that had a chance of becoming a suitble corrupt, letalone suitable for the shit somn would later be doing with them. So eventually, somn just gives up on the ""gifts"" & plops a cute little apple down in horrors shop. At that point he (horror) is done with everything & just eats it,, & fucking dies beacuse AHHHH JOKES ON YOH IT WAS AN APPLE FROM SOMNS CUTE LITTLE BRED-TO-BE-NEGATIVE APPLE TREES AAHHH!!! & then somn takes his corpse, now having enough corruption within, & brings him back still having half his organs falling out because he hates him for being stubborn & ungreatful ❤️ for the first few years being under somn's evil shit, horror would be forced to perpetuate ideals not.. by the webpages bc that wasnt a thing at this point & somn was being evil, by going out & basically using brute force to get people into the corruption mindset 🤤 & he was guilted into it bc somn was like "ill fucking ruin ur au if u dont do what i say boy!!" So he kept going on & lily was juust a little baby only 7-14 years old & she was oh so sad & he was like awh ok you look like the devil himself but youre pretty kind so.. theyve got a sweet litle fake father daughter bond because lily also is fucking petrified of somn ❤️ but eventually horror is informed that his au is GONE!!! Lily viewed it as a good thing which is why she told him bc by then she had a Brain by now & viewed corruption as the ultimate goal while horror still viewed it as.. well death- so he tweaks out & then somn dumps his ass in the forest for a week- i didnt mention, this all takes place in a pocket dimension (basically an empty au) that somn uses for his base & yeah theres alot of dead forest surrounding it. So at this point its been a good 7 years... killer is actually introduced around this time & his first test is to hunt horror in the forest to prove his loyalty & dedication to somn & corruption :P
Now for killer hohoho.... my favorite....
I mentioned a bit about killers past being a frisk & allat, but he & [dead chara & dead asriel] his siblings were brought up in a tense home so this little frisk coped by latching onto chara & getting into fights alot at school due to taking things to heart & also anything theyd interperate as a slight against chara too far,, so they were a little coocoo. For a while he & asriel were trying to get over charas death but frisk would constantly have nightmares guilting them into believing charas death was their fault, thinking that them being annoying caused them to die, that chara blamed them etc, & it really fucked them up & asriel had tried to sit them down & tell them that it really wasnt their fault bbuuut frisk viewed asriel as more of an authoritive figure & didnt like him very much, got overwhelemed & freaked out & murked poor asriel. Asriel was not a bad sibling, just tried to keel things together while all of them were kids but frisk didnt take it that way being the youngest & stupid. But following that death & running awat from home eventually, they would continue to get into fights., legal trouble etc (getting sent to jail bc of charges against asriels death) until they landed in jail & went the same way out as chara ❤️ just a little differently but thats graphic i dont want to make anyone uncomfy, so a while after being in a wooden box Dead, somn had actually been keeping tabs on frisk/killer for a while during this (time isnt the same in every au..) & was reasonabley upset that his target died before he could get corruption into his noggin, so somn basically made horror dig him up so that he could inject 'killer' with residual corruption, but that ended up mixing with leftover determination bc thats definetly hoe it works, & they were able to hold onto an artificial soul!!! So yeah he rivives him, killer is the only one that wasnt brought back with any organ systems left intact so he is free from that hell, & yeah when he began waking up he almost thought it was chara waking him up like they used to bc isnt that So Sweet & he was like "awh hi manefestation of chara" but yeah pretty quickly he got really attatched to somn due to him playing along eith the whole "yeahh your siblings in a good place now" & the whole "i brought u back to life!!" Thing. After a little bit of stabalizing & following horrors banishment to the woods, somn was like "hey... hey little guy go hunt the big one & bring him back to me & ill let you stay & be my buddy!!!" So obviously he does & then thats actually where his big ol jacket comes from 🤤 he took it from horror bc he Hates him.. he does collect alot of stuff that reminds him of those around him, even if he doesnt like them.. hes a sentimental Guy
Dust was the third & last recruit, in his original au he worked as an accountant suffering from some type of hyperactivity & paranoia- i havent done enough research so i dont want to smack a label- but he was a very nervous guy & would get overwhelemed very.very easily & often tries to ground himself with picking habits or keeping himself in densely packed rooms to prevent his mind from wandering
Dust & his brother lived in an almost.. completely non utmv related au. He just worked a day job & would visit his brother every so often, but one unfortunate day rolls around (his birfday!!) & his brother decides to throw him a surprise party bc aww. But his brother was a yapper. & dust was NOT having a pleasant day, extremely on edge & then oops he blacks out because his brother was insistant on him cutting his own birthday cake, dust flipped out due to being like "aah im going to do something bad!..." & yeah in classic dust variant style he Kills His Brother. & tries to play it off by keeping his corpse in his damn closet or something but his boss ends up noticing him being very out of it at work, pulls him aside out of concern- & dust havjnf been simmering in fear of being found out becomes convinced that he also knows- & kills the poor guy (boss was an asgore variant :( ) so yeah then he goes home bc hes convinced the cops are after him, tries to murk himself until ooooh is that an angel i see???? Somn is like "hhhey bud. You dont look to hot over there hmmm... lets get u cleaned up 😊" & then yeah. Dust also has a bit of an odd perception of somn, feeling that he owes his newly gained life to him & especially so due to helping him avoid that situation. One of the early drawings i made (old pfp) showed his office- hes the one that keeps tabs on aus (originally lilys job but she later went into physically planting the aus instead) that have been corrupted & just. Chills. He & killer are okay with eachother but the both of them can get annoyed very easily.. so yesss...... i might just get back into writing scenes for this & post them bc i swear i actually know how to write 😭 i do have ideas.. so many.. but 0 motivation...
