Small doodle bc i want to yap abt inborn fresh

Im also going & revising every info post for this bc its drivinf me insane

Kind of just explaining a big focus of inborn here but wtv & idrc abt "spoiling" since idk whats rlly gonna come out of this besides art & potential vignettes

So fresh kinda saw what error & ink were doing & how they built onto their own forms & took many notes & decided to do his own thing but for like. Throwing things off bc hes an evil tank cleaning esque creature thing explained here & he did shit like that for a while & just kinda mindfucked aus that he found to be intetesting,, which one day led him to finding a dreamtale au.. where somn is from.. & he saw little child somn being socially isolated & was like "yes perfect you will be my patient 0 for uhh my cute little corruption plan" so he was the voice in the tree so to speak,, & im still rethinking how somn actually goes into corruption since before i had it go around him (somn) having gone coocoo & coming up with it on his own + random scary voices in the tree but now i have a good SOURCE for that voice. Fresh yes. & he basically takes him one day after he gets corrupted & then yay evil corruption propaganda & subsequent hivemind religion is born hoorah

Oh & corruption was a natural thing that happened before fresh's time, but he took the idea of completely deteriorating aus & adding such to some weird beliefs & ran with it

But fresh is the one that gets somn to focus on corruption within aus & building onto his already weird view on souls being pure or whatever it is that i was trying to make out of it earlier this year.. but hes kinda an evil jimeny cricket or the devil/angel on somn's shoulder, giving him his ideas on what to target, how to expand the religion beyond direct influence (the websites 🤤)

But yeah i like to think fresh started off as a 8 bit pixel thing, to a jealous pixel thing fucking everything up, to a voice in a childs head, to the voice guiding/manipulating a cult leader & still ruinining timelines

Fun fact, his cloak is actually a blanket Ink painted for Cross while he was momentarily living in the doodlesphere. The material's pretty decent at holding warmth so he made it a cloak which he typically only wears during MC's (manual cleanups),,, which refers to sweeping aus that have been corrupted & searching for uncorrupted survivors and suchlike!

It's also lwk a miracle that he wasn't corrupted by Somn's magic,,, some speculate it's simply laying dormant in him and Somn's waiting to pull it into a full-force physical collapse into a corrupted. Cross, being the anxious fellow he is, mildly believes the fact and considers himself a danger to others. Maybe that's why he lives so far away from the rest of Underswap's residents,,,,

Was doodling inborn slop bc i yearn to make more,, somn's new design makes alot more sense to me.. like. Hiding his true intentions or some bs behind that matryoshka esque silhouette

Hes looks so peacful like this!! Much better than the last outfit in my opinion,, it didnt really scream "etherial being tied to universe ruining shenanigans"

Im still figuring out sol's but im sort of leaning on the idea that he, following somn's corruption, attempted to try & "fix" his au of impurities/hate but spent a shit ton of time on it & after like a century gave up out of exhaustion & discovered some way out of it,, mayhaps ran into ink.. but afterwards he wouldve removed himself from his old beliefs out of remembering how it turned his brother into sluge

Basically plan on making him have the intentions of helping others but going into a 9 to 5 sort of job format after ditching the angel duties & catching wind of these cute little. Websites. Yay

Somn doodle + mini lore dump yay

Working on a more important & story relavant artwork for him (& chud daughter lily)

I just wanted to kinda elaborate on the colors that will be used in his design.. corruption in general

Corruption is made up of severe emotions & targets such to spread in this world, therefore it is able to absorb souls of all kinds as well as the traits of human souls, including the victim's emotional states.. which has the substance itself have alot of underlying hues of colors (cough oil spill kinda.. lovely comparison from cowriter)

But for the entities that form from corruption, the color is based upon their overall type of corrupt they became (completely forgot to even post abt this)

So yeah, corrupts have more uniform coloring compared to overall corruption substance

For Somn however, due to being related to the Tree (inherintly relating him to corruption itself), his coloring is made up of the same as the substance itself, however hues can slightly change depending on mood! Mood can also cause his physical state to become a bit less stable, the more control he has over his emotions the more stable he is.. hes also like lowk similar to oobleck except if it where the opposite (physical form is solid when no forces interact, if you were to hit him it'd slightly turn to a more gooey form) regardless of that he cant really get hurt by physical attacks?..

Sort of a similar thing for Lily.. her skin's kinda blue bc she doesnt actually have blood but corruption in replacement of such so blah blah where blood would flow is a mix of blues & blacks so she looks a little sickly all the time, her hair is an example of the other hues in addition to the albanism

She however is not made of an oobleck-like substance lmao
