She’s seen his face before, in the lingering remnants of a dream too vivid to be shunned away easily. It is a face that sticks out so obviously and purposefully that only a fool would refuse to acknowledge the signs. It came as no surprise that there he stood, in the hustle and bustle of Val Royeaux, so casually intersecting her path. Something akin to deja vu swept over the ancient elf, the familiar steps to a dance she’s performed over centuries. While she knew she’d have to deal with the situation eventually, she didn’t particularly wish to initiate their meeting. And so, head tucked beneath pale hooded cloak, she made her way to the stall beside him, her body bristled in anticipation and annoyance for the unfortunate events to come.

“You don’t know me.” the words leave her lips through her sharp teeth, on her lips there’s a twisted smile. One that she would only recognize from the child with glass over her small hands, with gold all over her fingers and ears, the same one that sunk her teeth over another’s flesh mindlessly and meddled in another’s mind just for fun and for the money that it would bring her in the end. The way that her dark red eyes shone against the other monster (they were all monsters here) would remind her of the adult that wandered the wilderness with a single objective: to get the target, always. (If the floor was painted red, then the ones that lived there would need to get used to the new decor.) The woman that moved closer to the monster was not the child however, not the adult, not the general, not the priestess, it was something different. Clearly something better, but then again the judge was very biased. Her eyes moved up and down, sizing the other up.
She was just another of the Faithful, but there had been a reason why she had climbed her way up. Not a dreamer but close enough when it came to leading other nobodies. She had gotten there because she got shit done even when it hurt. Her tense jaw turns into a growl, she was not welcome in the fade (she had never been) but she would not bow her head in fear the same way that she had done since her childhood ever again.
She remembered that the anger coming from her was very similar to the way that she felt about herself. It frightened her how similar they seemed in nature and how the anger and corruption swarmed their core “And you never will, filth.”

“Do you despise them as I do? How they patter around like ants, determined but hopeless, waiting to be crushed, yet unknowing, ignorant.”

LOST
❝ Don’t mistake COINCIDENCE for FATE.❞

“You don’t seem like the lost folk I so commonly meet here - a demon of sorts, perhaps?” Drawing her fan to her face, Arachne gave him an unimposing scrutiny, fascinated by the radiance he seemed to emit in aura. It was intangible but something about his presence made her senses quiver - that is, in the magical respect. For the sake of sating her own curiosity she hoped he would be inclined to a strike up a friendly chat.
@incogitatione ❛ A deal like that with a stranger like you ? Do you think I’m dumb ? ❜
