There are certain types of work that I post to ao3 anonymously. And I have to say, it’s enormously freeing. Like...if I get likes, it has nothing to do with me, it’s all the writing. Yay! And if I get negative comments, it’s not AT me (even if it is personal) because they don’t know who I am! And if I don’t get much attention, well, it can be hard to know what you’re getting into with anonymous work. I tend to sort of assume that people aren’t excited about the pairing or the particular subject or kink. I just...I KNOW none of the feedback is personal, so the good and the bad are both easier to take. It’s great. I love it. I recommend it if you’re having issues with fear of posting or being judged or...anything. If you have fear, try anon. It’s great. @ao3commentoftheday
