movie: i really have no idea. i love watching movies. beauty and the beast, pretty woman, an affair to remember, the impossible, sound of music, wristcutters: a love story, labyrinth, dazed and confused, scott pilgrim vs the world, zombieland, the princess bride, robin hood men in tights, etc. etc. etc. i seriously love a lot of movies.

texture: oh wow. i don’t think i’ve ever thought about this. i love touching water. I mean, I love touching it. Anything soft. Skin. Really waxy plants. When I bury my toes in wet sand. The soft spot/fur behind cats’ ears. This is a hard question. 

time of day: I love early mornings, and I love it around 1-3am outside. The world gets really quiet. 

day of the week: I have no idea. Week days for reasons.

vegetable: cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, corn, spinach, carrots, potatoes, pepperoncini peppers, broccoli, and uhhh... green beans! 

shop: craft stores, barnes & noble, half priced books, thrift stores, pacsun, zumies, uncommon objects.

fashion/style: I have no idea what you would call it. Hipster? Comfortable. My Pinterest has a nice board for it. 

workout: Hiking, push ups, planks, yoga, and swimming.

girl’s name: -shrug- I like the name Tegan. 

potato chip flavour: sour cream and onion & cheddar, julio’s chips, sour cream and onion, BBQ, and Cheetos. 

meal of the day: No idea. I eat randomly.

ice cream flavour: cookies and cream/mint chocolate chip, 

soda: i don’t drink sodas much. big red, and cherry coke when I do.

Okay, so take #2 since my first try didn’t come through, sadly. This is my interpretation of Fairly Local.

"I’m fairly local, I’ve been around, I’ve seen the streets you’re walking down" is, to me, about Tyler knowing the struggle so many people are trying to push through. As well as the "good people now", I think, is to reference that we are still good, we’re still human in spite of the struggles we have to face day to day. It has a calming effect on me and I’m willing to bet that many others as well that someone we look up to, someone who makes us feel safe really know’s what’s going on in our heads.

The back-to-back opposing verses make me think of the polarity of one’s moods, mental states and ways of expression. One day you wake up and you can’t stop thinking about how you’re evil to the core, not a single thing about you is a-ok. But a few days down the road, you realise that you have a chance. You will push through. And these struggles are such a pain in the ass to anyone who knows them, so seeing this in music we try to escape to means so much to me because it’s a form of validation to the things we feel.

The part where he or later Blurryface raps “this song will never be on the radio” kinda gives me the vibe of “not everyone will understand this” because with referencing the clique, it kinda makes you wrap your head around how limited coverage we have. We’re these fucked up kids yelling to the sky but not everyone will hear us. Kinda similar with “the world around us is burning but we’re so cold” because, yeah, neither is the best option but we’re still so divided.

We’re the few, we’re the proud and we’re the emotional. But it’s going to be okay. To me the album kinda feels like it might be about the struggle itself. About how it’s truly fine to not be fine. How it’s normal to have off days and how we have to push through. In contrast to Vessel’s light tones, this might be a bit darker and I am very emotional about this album but I can’t wait to hear the rest of it. It will save my life again.
