Came across your tumblr and I'm obsessed with your Murderbot art. I love your style and the way you represent abstract concepts like the feed or ART's presence, plus the level of detail you include with Murderbot's drones and the humans' feed interfaces. I think your character expressions are so well done, they are subtle and understated enough to feel really realistic but still get the emotion across. I especially love the illustrations you did of specific scenes from the books. I would absolutely read a whole graphic novel adaption by you. Thank you for sharing your drawings!

4. a story idea you haven't written yet

All I have are bits of surprisingly cohesive worldbuilding for this, no actual story yet, but I've been gnawing on the concept of internal hotspots for some time. I'm not even sure I'll write it. But it interests me from a reproductive/body horror angle. How would a biologically asexual species handle viviparity? When the generation of new life from the planet is so firmly tied to religion, what does it mean to have one anomalously ignite inside you? At least your doctor's an atheist...

8. if you had to write a sequel for a fic, you'd write one for...

This is pretty tough to answer. I don't know that I'd write a sequel for any of them. But maybe the fic I'm posting now... I'd like to bring in more Functionist Universe versions of characters we know. They haven't seen a war, so I wonder how that's affected their psyches.

A scene I can't wait to write for a WIP:

Because of Circumstances (that I arranged for this exact purpose), a certain SecUnit 03 has to return to the B-E base with SecUnits 01 and 02 with its helmet off. (This is on a completely different planet and long before NE, of course.)

This may or may not reveal some incriminating marks on 03's neck ;3 luckily the only human who sees is someone on their side

8.) if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…

Do you know, I don't think I'd write a sequel for any of my current fics? They're all very very much complete stories in my head -- I don't feel like I'd have anything interesting to write about since all the interesting stuff happened in the fic! I guess maybe for I'll Sip The Sunlight From Your Eyes, which is mer!Geraskier and basically pwp, so there's a little more room to actually show them doing stuff.

...though actually, my current (very much unfinished and unposted) WIP Falling Faster Than Stars (also known as ghostfic) has room after the ending for a sequel, so I guess maybe that one? I'd have to finish the damn thing first though lmao

19.) the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic

I... don't tend to do very much research for my fics, believe it or not? I've done the bog-standard "flower meanings" deep dive (for omegaverse games!Yenralt, of all things) buuuuut.... hm. I guess either the symptoms of tetanus for While the Crown Hangs Heavy on Either Side, or the ecosystem of eastern Canadian taiga for Wireless Connections (transformers fic).

24.) how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?

I try to return to the source material of the fandom, generally -- I'm a very big proponent of "not falling into fanon distortions" in my own writing, and going back and rereading or rewatching whatever it was that inspired the fic in the first place is usually a good starting point for rediscovering whatever it was that started me writing the fic, and also a good place for recalibrating my understanding of the characters and world. All around, it just sort of is good for making me remember why I enjoy doing this in the first place!

If that's not working, I take a break from creating and spend my time doing other stuff that lets me rest and think, or rest and not think (aka watching comfort shows/reading comfort books) just to give my brain a break.
