"I talked him out of it," Anthony said.
Josephine's head whipped up. "What?"
"You won't have to marry Lord Branning," he clarified. "You were right; you can't marry every man you like. Lord knows Colin would have been wed a thousand times by now if that were the case."
Anthony didn't have time to brace himself before Josephine flew into him and wrapped her arms around him in a hug that was far beyond anything proper. But Anthony didn't care. He let his arms snake around Jo's body, and all he could think was that she fit perfectly in his arms and that she somehow smelled like the sea.
She pulled back. "I'm sorry," she said, voice quivering slightly. She was still so close that Anthony could feel her hot breath on his, and it would be easy to lean down and kiss her.
