So I just learned the word "canonization" and I vote that we now use this when we've made something that's been headcanoned/that's fanon into canon by dint of enough of the audience knowing it.

My first usage of it; Merthur fans have canonized the ship, and they live happily ever after with their dragon Aithusa and the Knights, and redeemed sister Morgana.
