Hey i know you're no longer here but could you share your coloring for sueños de libertad? it's beautiful
Oh hey, yeah that show sadly became unwatchable, but it was definitely beautiful in the beginning. Even with their dull filters it was stunning and the colorful production design and clever directing made it feel like a dream. I wish that lasted longer cause I loved editing it, but alas, even beyond the garbage writing they visually gave up and turned it into ugly sludge.
Anywho, as for tips on how to color it, I always make each gif custom, but in general it's just reversing their "vintage" yellow filters and adding more contrast and saturation (in the right places). So get rid of that yellow by cooling the color temperatures/tints and then create true blacks and whites for a higher cleaner contrast.
For actual gifs you heighten everything even more and I play around with the colors and lighting in a very detailed way, but overall the key is fixing that awful network tv coloring that makes any edit look super yellow/green/muddy. Also, don't go crazy with the sharpening folks.
