I go outside for the first time in the day and it be like wow holy shit I'm alive, and I see the ants and know they're alive, and I see the trees and know that they're alive, and I walk barefoot over some grass and know that everything beneath me lives or is home to something that lives and always has been. so many things have lived and died and walked right over this very place, each with their own story. and I thank the grass for letting me walk on it, and feed the things that feed on it. and I thank the earth for being ground to everything that has lived on it. and I thank the trees for being home to the creatures who live in it. and I thank my parents for bringing me into the world so I can live in it. to know everything around me lives. and know that even if we are the only planet that has life, every bit of life here is just as precious as one found among the stars.
