Jack’s fond of many things about Robby. He loves Robby’s inability to be diplomatic with people who try his patience; loves the way he sweeps his hands over Jack’s body; loves his shitty taste in beer and his excellent taste in sports teams. This, however, might be the thing of which he is most fond: Robby’s face when he wakes up beside Jack and he offers a sleepy, delighted smile.
“Good morning,” Jack says quietly, his own voice rough with sleep.
“Hmmm,” offers Robby, and there it is, that beaming smile, the one that makes the skin beside his eyes crinkle and the laugh lines beside his mouth deepen. Jack knows there aren’t many people who get to see Robby unreservedly happy, fewer still who’ve ever woken up beside him and been treated to this loose-limbed, sweet smile of man who appreciates his luck. “Hi.”
Jack can’t keep his hands off Robby when he looks like this, when his body’s still coasting on the memory of being thoroughly fucked, when the day has made no claims on him, when he has nothing to do and nowhere to be. He reaches out and grazes a thumb over Robby’s bottom lip, memorizing how that smile feels against his skin, and Robby kisses the pad of his thumb and wriggles in closer.
The great, warm weight of Robby still drowsy against him makes Jack smile back, has his heart do something complicated in his chest. Robby watches him, eyes dancing, and says “I love it when you smile.” And Jack laughs softly, presses their foreheads together, and splays his fingers at the small of Robby’s back.
“Touché” he says, and Robby grins.

Et le temps a filé entre mes doigts distraits, je le cherche aujourd’hui au fond de mes regrets car chaque instant perdu devient une prière qu’on adresse trop tard à la vie éphémère…
