W1.1 Ihi & Wehi
Figure 1: Ihi: This poster gets its power from either the legalisation or negative impact there is in society about same-sex marriage. This poster shows two formal suits who plan weddings for there clients yet they cant even plan their own due to the inequality. Wehi: Angry that they are unable to even have the chance to plan there own wedding or that people wouldn't allow them to do what they want especially as they do it for others.
Figure 2. Ihi: This poster has a strong Ihi due to the raw idea of it. It isn't your standard sort of poster but instead, its Ihi is shown through the text by the harsh and realism of it. The fact that there can be cool designs that show ideas really well but in reality actually doing something is what makes the most impactful difference Wehi: I love the concept of the work. It makes me feel like I need to be out there doing something isn't of just researching about it or sitting at home. It's eye-opening.
Figure 3: Ihi: This work shows the gender inequality in the workforce/society through its use of subject matter. The stark comparison of the difference in the rungs of the ladder symbolising the number of career opportunities available for men compared to women, even though they do the same amount of work and hours. Women are having to work more than men just for the same opportunities which are hardly equal. Wehi: This work is eye-opening, the straightforward design of this poster makes visualising the degree of inequality a lot easier. It makes me feel angry and also sad that society is still like this.
